Why isn't there a death penalty in a lot of states for people who murder other people? What Vick did was horrendous - but the death penalty is not an option in this type of illegal act.
Personally, I think he should be banned from the NFL and serve some prison time, plus pay a substantial fund to pit bull rescues.

I believe in the old code of an eye for an eye, but if they can sentence someone for killing a dog than that will open a can of worms. Then what if someone kills a rat, should he get the death penalty? Anyways Vick is low life scum, he should be banned from the NFL, and he should be forced to pick up dog s*** for the rest of his life.

I totally agree that what vick did was horrible! I can't help but wonder why there isn't the exact same outcry for children who are tortured and killed by hands of those that are suppose to love and protect them. Know of too many cases where abuse has killed a child, other children put in foster care, parent who did it is out in 20 years or less. Friend was foster parent in such a case, parent went to court to try and keep custody of children he hadn't killed. They were 2 and 3, so I guess he was getting out before they would be 18. I'm not standing up for vick by no means but all torture and killing should have extreme punishments.

I am a big animal lover, but there are thousands and thousands of murderers who have raped and murdered little girls, and other humans and they don't even get the death penalty. What he did was sick, I agree. But we really have to put our priorities in order.

Death Penalty ? Your Kidding ? You only get death penalty when you murdered somebody or murdered people . Other than that there just going to throw some jail time at him . I honestly think he should get more time than what he has . Its not that i dont agree with you its just you only get a death penalty for actually murdering somebody like a person or a child .

Celebs get away with murder, OJ Simpson, Beretta, Look at Lindsy and Nicole. Off Scott free when any normal person would be thrown in jail. It's not fair and people should not buy any products these celebs endorse. It is our fault they are famous, and by being famous, they get away with everything and anything!!

he deserves one, that's for sure. he was never an awesome football player. i hope he gets beaten up in prison and gets bitten by twice as many dogs he tortured or killed. i wish i lived near him so i could egg his house and free his dogs. VICK DESERVES MUCH WORSE THAN WHAT HE IS GETTING!

Because there should be better legislation. I think he should be dead after what he put these dogs through. But not a quick death.

No, unfortunately people don't get that harsh of a penalty for killing animals that aren't human!
