I have a betta who's fins have become very long and started curling at the bottom. This is bothe his Anal and Ventrical fin. Is this a problem? what may cause it? :?

Well this is actually fairly common though it is an undesirable trait that breeders have been trying to breed out of them for years and is common in bettas with heavy finnage. Here is one explanation of this: (scroll down the page to where it says question two and it will talk more about this)

you probably bought him when he was young, as he ages he'll get longer fins and etc. if you want a betta without the long fin hassle, get a short tail betta. I'm guessing you have a veiltail

Why would you want to prevent your male from growing his fins to show off to the ladies?

the curling could be high ammonia. but the long fins probably mean you are taking great care of him, congrats

You have a male on your hand, why would you be unhappy about it growing beautiful fins????????
