ok right now i have a 1.77gallon fish tank with a goldfish and every one tells me is a very bad idea and it'll die really fast. so im planning to buy a 30-40 gallon tank. now what i need to know is what kind of fish should i put in there and how many....i would like to put gold fish, catfish, guppies, mollies and any other ones that look cool...so please can any one tell me if i can put these to gether and any other cooler ones? oh and last thing does mother guppies eat babies or just fathers? thanks

The local kids in my neighbor hood are messing with my pitbull she has already jumped the fence to chase after them luckily I got there in time to prevent a serious bite.Even after that incedint the kids still come and mess with her I don't want to give pitbull haters another reason to say something about this breed.So I need a way to keep my dog safe from the kids and the kids safe from the dog.

most of the time we just see scratches on his ears and scabs on his need. but they are small and no big deal.

this weekend though i found him and on the side of his neck he has hair loss (about as large as putting your index and thumb together) and hole (quite smaller). the hole went deeper than normal. but all i could see was blood and it was swollen. then the next day it was bursted, and gooey, and wet, you know? so we think its healing. and we put some medicine on it. he continues to scratch at it. so i am thinking that might be because a scab is forming, which is good.

are there anyways for me to tell if its infected? do you think what we did was good enough?

I have a 30 gallon glass Oceanic aquarium. It has one pearlscale goldfish and one calico fantail goldfish. They are each about 2 inches long. I do a 25% water change every two to three weeks. Algae builds up really fast. And the ammonia and nitrate/nitrite levels are totally normal. My plastic plants are also having some issues. Each leaf develops brown spots. So I scrub the plants in the sink (with just water) and the spots come off. But then develop again within a few days. The algae build up is really bad on the back of my driftwood. I use an algae scrubber when its needed. But its really hard to get all of it off. Also I'm wondering, when I use the algae scrubber, all of the algae that I scrub off is released into the water, can this hurt the fish? I have a BIO-wheel filter and I change the cartridge whenever I do a water change. Is there any anti-algae products out there that are proven to be effective and safe? Please help me!

Ok thank you for opening this i have a bearded dragon as you can see in this pic i have 2 lights 1 for the day and one for the night the one for the day can heat up the tank or the spot where the temp is to about 86F and at night my other red light gets it to like 80F my tank measurements are L 24in W 12in H 16 in also my day time light is a 75W and my night time is a 60W is all of this ok

I have a min pin and in my neighborhood it says that a few types of dogs are not allowed and the one i have is one of them. He has been living with me a year and a half and before i adopted him the office agreed and later that person was fired and there is still the new manager and they said we have to give him away. Does anyone know what to do since i don't really have money to move out and find a better place?

i live in a house and have a pool in the back yard, i also have 2 huge tree's 1 in back and 1 on the side, at night there are at least 400-500 birds in them all night long,and the bird poo is just terrible, i have to go outside every morning and wash off the bird poo on the walkway beside the house cause it's about an inch thick just from 1 nights worth,in the day time when the wind blows it blows the flakes and feathers all over the back yard and sometimes in the pool... is there anyway of getting rid of them without killing them, i dont want to kill them just want them to go away,, i've never had this kind of problem before, and it probably atract the snakes in the tree too,, please help me with non killing ideas here, thank you for reading this and thanks for future anwsers

So, I went to PetCo and Petsmart today and found a good quality bird cage for much less than a 'small animal' cage. My question is, if I take out the grate on the bottom and secure the easy-sliding side doors to the cage with wire so the rats can't open them, can I substitute this cage for a rat cage?
I'm planning on putting in ledges and landings and such around the cage so the rats have a smaller chance of falling as well.

I just have a couple questions about an algae eater I bought:

1. How can you tell which type it is? Mine has a black stripe down his body and he only grows to be about an inch long. I think he is a False Siamese algae eater, but I'm not sure. He looks kindof like this:

2. How can you tell if an algae eater is pregnant? My algae eater is kindof fat, and I'm just wondering if she's pregnant?

3. Are algae eaters livebearers, or egglayers?

I've had a goldfish for a couple of years. It was a sort of olive brown when I first got it.

Now, in the space of about a week, it's turned bright orange!!!!!!!!!!! I'm feeding it the same brand of food and it's perfectly healthy.......just ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!

I don't particularly like the colour - What has caused this?

Is it destined to spend the rest of its life this colour?

and just sitting at the bottom of my tank..he comes to the top when i feed then he goes back and sits at the bottom only moving ocassionally. i did about a 50% water change today to see if that might help..it is heated to around75 degrees. anymore advise would be appreciated.
