Pets - 15 August 2007

He's been wormed a few weeks ago and when this started I wormed again. Had a few worms. But the stool is still runny, mucous, and a little blood (sorry to be graphic but i thought detailed would be best) No money for vet. He's due for his first shot this week. Not sure if I should even give it since he's feeling so bad. Any help would surely be appreciated. Oh and there was a change in food but the blood has me nervous.

On this comming friday August 17. I am getting 3 male seal point kittens but they are only 3 weeks old. I read in many articles that you should bottle feed them every four hours and some say 2-3 hours but I am not sure. If anyone Breeds cats can they give me the complete rundown on how they care for there felines?

I think just when I have seen it all with Ozzy, he decides something new to play.

So after him becoming "bloody" and it was just red paint from the barn owner painting, we thankfully have all that off and ready for WY state fair, nowwwwwww

He enjoyed his lick tub too much and now has mollasses allllll over his face, allllll in his fur.

How a donkey can do this to themselves and I wasn't there to actually see this amazing feat, but the end result screams it was fun.

So, in 3 days, he's in WY state fair. Any pointers on how to now get mollasses off his fur, face, nose, and I haven't really gone hunting to see where else it is.

He is soooooo smiling at me when I walked out there this morning. Of course all the mules are normal and politely lick their mineral tub, I think Ozzy must of massacred it!!!

Any hints??

I just found a stray turtle on the road and brought it home. I was wondering what type of turtle it is ( I think it's a box turtle) but i am not sure. I was also wondering what to feed it (I am currently feeding it lettuce). Please help!!!!

i've been talking to this guy but although we're aren't "exclusive", it's pretty seriouse. The other day, he says "I really wonder whats going to happen when you get a new Boyfriend". I tell him i didnt like the comment and he explainse he didnt want to bring it up, but now that school was about to start there were going to be other people interested in me...

I have had my 2 1/2 month old puppy for almost 3 weeks and she has had about 8 accidents in the house. It always turns out to be a little after I take her out. The vet reccommended crate training and I've been doing that for 2 weeks. It doesnt seem like she's getting the point htat she can't go in the house. How can I "dicipline" her?

My dog goes to parks and plays in the sand alot! She loves it. I found a small black bug on her and im guessing its a flea. I pulled it off and squished it. So I just finished giving her a long bath with Dog Shampoo, Then Pantene Pro-V , And Garnier Fructis Conditioner. After she was done I put in Ramoni Leave-In Silk Conditioner. Is there anyway I can make something or do something that wont cost money for her fleas to be gone? We have tried the flea and tick pill and advantage, but I think she has them.

two christmas ago i got a choclate lab puppy named brown. and i already had a cocker spainel named buddy. buddy is nutered but brown isn't. buddy attacks brown when i go into the back yard to play with them. ifr i pet brown a couple of times buddy come over and attacks him. browns ears bleed when he does this. buddy also attacks the rotwiller that lives on our street. the rotwieller never bites back but if buddy contuniuse he might. he also tries to bite a toy dog on our block what can i do to make buddy nicer towards other dogs.

my kitty LOVES to go out on our screened in patio, and whenever a fly gets in the house she has so much fun killing it. she loves hunting and she loves to run around. but she freaks out when we try to take her outside and show her its okay. i grew up with cats, my mom always had cats. she always said that she thinks its wrong to keep cats in the house because cats love it outside. i know sophie would love it outside. we live in an area with alot of little lizards and frogs and i know she would have a ball playing with them i never put her out before we got her fixed because i didnt want to chance her having kittens. shes only 7 months old but she is SO terrified of being outside the porch. she will sit on the porch and look out of the patio and meow like shes trying to get out, but she afraid of it. lol ive even tried to sit her right outside the patio with the part of the yard shes familiar with. but nothing seems to work. am i battling a lost cause?

My 13 year old cat has battled skin problems for years. I have brought him to several vets who all tell me he does not have mange (which I really thought he did) and that he has allergies.
We are battling fleas in our driveway and he is the only one of 3 cats who is scratching himself raw. Over the years I have tried the vet dip which did him no good (from different vets over a few years) also did the frontline which only lasts him about 2 weeks then he is scratching and pulling his hair out again. Tried flea collars - all kinds of brands - did nothing. One vet put him on a pill - didn't do anything either. This is awful for my cat to live like this, the only thing over the years that works is powdering him every 2 days with flea powder. I suspect the powder not the chemicals is what helps him. Can you offer some advice?? I am wondering about putting a beeswax salve on him perhaps with neem to see if that helps him to get away from the chemical powdering. He cannot stay inside, either

She has one swollen nipple thats red and swollen...thats a sign for mastitis...but she has not been pregant or have had puppies yet..i dont know if she is pregnant..could she just be pregnant or is it possible for her to just have mastitis without being pregnant if not do you think that she is pregnant with mastitis.

We recently adopted a kitten from the local animal shelter and after a few weeks our other kitten's eyes began to squint and eventually became inflamed and red. Int he morning they are practically glued shut from the excessive fluid. The vet gave us some eye drops and I use some eye wash to clean his eyes. The drops seem to have little effect. What is the best way (i.e. over the counter treatment) to treat this problem??

Is it true that the more filtration you have in a tank, the more fish you can keep. I've always heard that it is possible to keep a couple of larger fish (for an example lets say 3 or 4 clown loaches) in a 55G tank as long as you have an excellent filtering system.

Also, another question I have is...Can a tank be over filtered??? I had someone ask me this the other day and I didn't know what to tell them. I've never really thought about it. I have 2 different HOB filters that are rated for 55-gallons and up, one Rena Filstar XP1 (250GPH), and I am going to add a powerhead to create the underwater current that I want (has a filter as well), all of these in my 55. I don't think you could over filter, but your prof. opinions would help!!!!!
