and just sitting at the bottom of my tank..he comes to the top when i feed then he goes back and sits at the bottom only moving ocassionally. i did about a 50% water change today to see if that might help..it is heated to around75 degrees. anymore advise would be appreciated.

I would suggest you watch him carefully for any signs of parasites such as ich or velvet. You may also offer him a variety of foods to see if you can perk up his activity level.

Some betta fish get stressed out(ex. sudden movement). This also happened to me. I asked one of my teachers(i m studying to be a vet) and they said it needs a larger tank. Mine was in a 5.9 gallon tank. Try to move up to something a little larger. Put in some fake plants. Vary the diet. Try a 10 gallon tank.
