This link should answer most of those questions. You may only keep native Australian species. There is a list here of what a Class 1 license may possess and the license fee. http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/PDFs/reptile_licensing_outline_Aug04.pdf
There is a link to download the application here:

You have to ring national parks N.S.W to obtain your license.I live in Vic so I'm not sure as it differs from state to state but I do know it doesn't cost much. Can you buy Reptiles from petshops in NSW, I don't know if it has changed yet, but you can in every other state in Australia. if you are completely lost and can't find any wher to obtain reptiles look up HerpTrader on the net. They sell a wide range of reptiles Australia wide and will freight reptiles for you. First things first though ring up national parks and get your licence. Good luck with it all.

I live in QLD...most large pet stores sell bearded dragons here.. a couple of stores I know def have them is Pet City and Pet Superstore.... don't know whether you have those down there. Do a seach on www.yellowpages.com.au .... you may have some local breeders who are also a business.

Good luck with your beardie... I only got mine a month ago...best thing I ever did :D
