I have a male beagle, six years old.
I noticed a few fairly large bumps on the top of his head.
The skin underneath the hair on the largest bump is bright red.
What could this be?

Bear with me because this is going to sound like a worthless question but I am getting at something. My ryukins filter in his 10 gallon tank empties into the tank from about an inch above the water level and creates a current under water where the bubbles are pushed in. Just today I noticed my ryukin swimming into the current and then stopping and trying like mad to swim up the current. At first I thought he was just playing (as may still be the case) but then someone suggested that perhaps he was doing it because there was more air where the bubbles are entering the water. He doesnt stay in it....just swims in it for a second or two and then goes off exploring his rocks and plants and then a few minutes later he is back in it. It has also occured to me that he could just be swimming through a stronger part of the current (since he is swimming closer to the top than he was before, he has only been in the tank for about a week) and getting stuck. The reason i ask is that i would

I have a new burberry carpet and she is addicted to pulling up the loops in the carpet. She loves string! I have given her 2 sistic posts, as well several toys to play with to deter her. I have used a spray bottle when she is in the act but she's has already done the damage (usually done when i'm sleeping near sunrise). I've sprayed the carpet with Pet Organics"No Scratch" from Petco, but the cat still insists on the pulling up the carpet. I've also yelled "NO" when she is lowering her head to start the act of pulling up the carpet, but doesn't work either. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

1 week ago, we were given a week old kitten (10 oz.) to foster. I was syringe feeding him 30+ mLs a day, and he was doing great. Yesterday morning, I woke up to his crying around 8 am and I fed him 5 mLs. He seemed fine and was still hungry (nibbling on my arm), but I put him in his carrier (my horrible mistake). Around 12, I came back into the room to check on him. He normally mewed when hungry, but he didn't. I discovered he was very weak. I tried to get him to swallow warm KMR, and he refused it mostly. I got maybe 8 mLs in, I got him to urinate, and I tried warming him up near our fireplace. He sounded wheezy, like he was struggling to breathe. I ran him to the vet, but he passed on.

I grew attached quickly, and this was a shock. It happened so fast. I hate myself for not feeding him more in the morning. I feel guilty and disgusted; I can't stop crying. The vet said he sounded like he had fluid in his lungs (pneumonia/ inhaled KMR). Your opinion, please?

I have three cats and I want to make them homemade cat food. I can't feed them raw meat and I would like it to be dry.
But what I really want is for people to answer this question...
Is it cheaper to make homemade food than to buy the stuff that is supposed to be good for them in the stores???
Please help!!

I've written a persuasive essay and told them I'll pay for the whole thing. When I was younger we had rodents but it never worked out, but I"m older now and way more responsible. The last time we had rodents was like 3 years ago! I really want a hamster! How can I convince my parents I can get one?

Worked 40 hours a week. Went to school two nights of the week. Lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with a 15x25 backyard. Lived down the street from a park. Right across the street from a college with a big open grass field. Was willing to spend all your free time with the dog. walk it. When you went running it ran with you. If money was tight but you could afford it.

I'm thinking about getting a German Shepherd. I want a best friend with four legs and a tail. A dog thats loyal and will never leave my side. Not to mention good with people.

My two parakeets have become obsessed with each other! I know they are both males, so it is not a mate issue. You can no longer take one of them out of the cage to play without them screeching and they immediately fly back to the cage! Also- their food dishes that came with the cage I had before I bought are rather deep, so when I put their food in there, they have to lean in to them to get their food, and then all the seed they have popped open just falls back down in the dish. I feel like I am wasting food when I dump out their dishes because the good seed is at the bottom. Do I need to get a smaller dish, or should I just leave the food in there and let them dig for it? Any advice would be great!

My mom walks our dog every morning, and today a little puppy followed her home despite her best attempts to find its' owner or leave it where she found it. We were wondering what type of dog it might be, maybe a Queensland Heeler mixed with something else...possibly a German Shepard?

Does anyone know?

I have had the snake a week and set the tank up so one side is 22- 24 degrees C and the other 27- 29 degrees C. It struck for its food well. ( two pinkies) as previously advised to feed it once a week. It is twelve weeks old. Any other advice would be welcome as this is my first snake. Also I dont intend to use it to breed so is it likely to bruminate if the tank is at a constant temperature range as I have set it up?

Background informatiom~~ 2 weeks ago my cat Molly give birth to 4 kittens. Then last Thrusday I noticed that my other female Maggie was bleeding from her vaginia. I never even noticed that she was pregers, but it seamed the she was giving birth & I set her up in a birthing box. After an hour nothing had happened, the bleeding had stopped & she was up walking around, so we asumed that maybe she had her kitten(s) outside. We then put her outside & watched her. We even walked the intire yard looking & listening for kittens. We can came up empty handed. So my next though was maybe she had a miscarriage, I called the vet & he said to just keep an eye on her & look for signs of infection. So now I have Molly with kittens & Maggie without any. During last few days Maggie has climbed in with Molly & her kittens. Molly seams not to care & Maggie nurses the kittens while Molly is away. Last night, Molly was nursing 1/2 & Maggie the other 1/2. I'm not sure what I should, if anything. Advice needed

I have had some baby mollies for around three weeks, maybe more and I bought the mom about two months ago (she is almost ready to have more fry). She was in the Creamsickle lyretail molly tank and I picked her out because she was the only one that was Creamsickle with black spots all over her and the rest were regular Creamsickles. Well she came to my tank along with a Dalmatian lyretail molly ready to have fry. I looked at her lyretail fry last night and found that one was pale with black dots, some where just pale, one was orange with dark reddish orange spots, some where just a reddish orange, and three appear to have a gold dust pattern (orange head, grayish body). I was wondering what genes do Creamsickle mollies carry and what kinds of babies can they have? Since it seems I can’t categorize my fry into one group except for lyretail.

Also what types of colors do mollies come in? Pictures and websites would help, thanks!
