I've never owned a kitten before and a friend gave my daughter a 5 month old kitten. She's a cute calico bread. She has started to meow alot and puts her her back legs and behind in a wierd position. Someone told me that means she is in "heat". I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

I have no other cats, and no next door cats, or stray cats.

I live near a cornfield, and frogs like to hang out in the irrigation ditch and in the street. I inevitably kill a few frogs by driving over them whenever I pull in to the driveway. Then my little pooch comes up, happy to see me, almost always with a dead frog in her mouth. I usually can pull it out of her mouth before she chews too much of it. Can she get sick from the frogs? She hasn't been sick yet, and this has been going on for about six weeks. I keep her inside when no one is at home to pull frogs out of her mouth. My first thought was giardia. She's current on all her shots and heartworm prevention.

I was at the pet store the other day when I saw this white spotted cockatiel, but the people that worked there failed to tell me exactly what kind of cockatiel she was. X0 She was white with small brown spots at the end of each feather. Not dark brown, but more towards tan. Does anyone know what kinds she is? I really want to by her, but I want to know what kind of bird she is first.

While I'm at it, what are good measurments for a cockatiels cage?

Also, what kinds of food (besids bird food) do they eat?

To most need a cage mate? If so, how many?

And...that's all, I'm done. Thankies!

I have had my dog for 8 yrs. I got her as a puppy. She is still doing really great, but now I realize if anything happened to her, I would be lost. We have been thru everything together and she is my best friend.
She has been fixed, or in other words had to have a hysterectomy when she was 4. She is maybe 1 1/2 lbs over weight. She sees the vet every year and has no health problems.
If you know anything about this could you please respond.

I have had my 5 month old male kitten for a little over a month now and I wanted to get him a friend. I brought home 10 week old male kitten. My 5 month old kitten keep pouncing on and wrestling with the 10 week old kitten. It seems like he is being really ruff at times and its constant....he isnt giving the other kitten a break. Is this normal or should I be concerned?? I seperated them the first day between bedrooms..I let the little one out once in awhile...is this ever going to end??

Hi! My little 4 month old pup (havanese) has been sneezing A LOT! There is no discharge/mucus coming out of her nose, her nose looks fine. She always has a little tear staining in her eyes anyway and the staining doesn't look any different. Her stool is ok too. I personally think she has allergies but vet says they don't appear until they get a little older. But even if she has allergies, should she be sneezing all the time? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
**She stays mainly inside the house unless she plays with my mom's dog and then they play outside in a fenced yard (3x's a week).**
Thanks!

Six weeks ago one of my neighbors brought a kitten to my house and asked if it was mine. I said no but since the neighbor was going to release the cat back on the street I said I'd take it. The kitten was about 3 or 4 weeks old, not even old enough to be away from its mother. Its eyes hadn't even changed yet. I took the kitten in and fed it with a bottle at first, dewormed it, treated it for fleas (it was loaded) and took it to the vet. Now six weeks later the neighbor warned me that the kitten's original owner is threatening to go to the police because they stole their kitten. Can they legally take this kitten back from me now?

I was just thinking....I got my dogs from other people.I suppose that when they were tehre , they loved and were faitful to that person. And now they are to me. If you give your pets to somebody else (in those extreme cases, when you are forced to do it, when you have no other choice), they will forget you and they will no longerlove you???
