Our Black Shepard runs under the table and won't come out. When our White German Shepard is up and around, the black shepard is fine. When trying to train him to come to us, he slobbers and is very scared. He just sits there. We have tried treats, a leash and alot of praising him. Any other suggestions?

I am worried this will cause a bowl obstruction and I cannot really afford to take her to the vet for that. She is a lab so her size might help her on this but I am not sure what to do. She vomited up maybe 1/4th of the belt herself the day after she ate it and I induced vomiting afterwards to try and get the rest. I would say she is now rid of more than half of the belt but I am worried about the rest. Should I wait until tonight and maybe induce vomiting again? after that I could watch her closely and if it looks like I will have to take her to the vet I can. I just hope they are willing to set up a payment plan with me becuase I just paid tuition this week and that pretty much wiped me out...If anyone has any suggestions I would really apprciate it, I am really worried about her.

Hi

My friend's cat passed away peacefully a few days ago. He was a sweetheart and also very dear to my friend.

Can you suggest ways in which I can help my friend now?

- What are the things I can do?
- Are there things I can and cannot say to her now?
- I'd like for her to get another cat some day.
- How do I recommend this to her? Is this a good idea?
- Any other suggestions on what I can tell her or what I can do to help her?

Thanks!

I am going to be visiting my Aunt soon and plan to take my dogs with me. She has heart troubles and I am afraid my dog will start barking in the middle of the night and give her a heart attack. She has a hound dog bark that startles me, let alone my Aunt. What can I do to make her stop? NO SHOCK COLLERS PLEASE!

I am fostering a sick un-neutered male dog until he gets better. I already have a female dog and a male dog (Both fixed). The foster dog gets along great with the female and he has not been showing agression towards the male. My male dog however has tried to attack him several times and I have to keep them seperated which is causing stress on them as well as me. I know that male dogs don't always get along but if anyone has any tips from similar situations I would really appreciate it.

Duke is on an anti-biotic and pain medication and also has a cone but is still able to get to the wound on his paw. The licking is making it worse since the wound cannot heal and when it does scab it gets itchy and he goes right back to the licking.
My friend has tried bag balm, bitter apple, soaking and putting his paw in a sock. Is there anything else that she can try for Duke?
Thanks!

Our new puppy is 13 weeks old, and came from an older breeder couple who didn't much care if their dogs used their house as a bathroom. Long story short, we put the puppy out, she plays or (maybe 1 out of 10 times) goes potty. Of those 9 other times, she comes right in, goes straight to her cage, and pees. PLEASE HELP! This is getting really, really hard for us.

Hi... I was just petting my dog, and I noticed a bump around his stomach/chest area... It appears to be under his skin, and kind of glides around, it seems. Now, my dog is considered a family member in my house... So, of course, I'm horrified. I know my family would be willing to pay any price for surgery. My question is, is this just a normal part of the dog, is it life-threatening, or is it just something that'll go away?

I adore most reptiles but do have a soft spot for just a few...especially tortoises. Does anyone here run a reptile rescue and can anyone tell me how to go about starting one? It would be a small scale operation (I can house around 10) I would not be rehabiliating any animals (I am not qualified for that) but I would take in surrendered healthy animals.

My in-laws recently went on a vacation. They left their hound with close friends whose animals they had cared for the previous week. He is a very playful, non-aggressive dog who is usually great with other animals. This particular couple has taken the dog on numerous occassions in the past, and in fact adored him very much!

They noticed he showed an interest in their caged in-door rabbit. Not thinking much of it, they left the two animals together alone for over 7 hours one day. When they returned home, the cage was destroyed and the rabbit was dead. There was no blood, or puncture wounds...it appears as if the dog simply made a play toy out of this bunny.

They are now asking my in-laws to pay for the damages, including the cage which they say was over $1,000, and the rabbit who was from a special breeder!

What would you do if you were the dogs owner???
