i got him yesterday hes so cute, hes a white sherperd, incredibly smart, he already knows how to sit a little bit, and i think he kind of knows where to crap, cause he has crapped in side yet, he walks aorund the house, hes pretty smart cause the dude who had him was a chinese dude, & he has two other dogs, which is the mom and dad, he can command the mom and dad, to stay somewhere, tells em to back up they do it, tells em how many steps to take and they do it, tells them how long to stay for and they wont come until he says it, if he snaps they come he snaps they stay. so the puppy learned a little bit, and he can shake too, he gives you the paw and if you shake it he shakes so, at least he knows something, but i need a name, cant think of any could someone help me, see if you can use this to help you, hes a male, hes white and little goldish, just a bit, but he looks like snow, hes playful, loves being handled, he does jump alot, but were working on that and he has stopped a little

I've been changing 10% if the water every 2 weeks and it doesn't seem to be dropping. The water I'm using does not have any nitrates in it, so I know I'm not adding any. I've seen de-nitrat-fiers, but they are very expensive. Is there a cheaper way?

some people say that having one is better because they bond more toward you and others say that cavies need each other (so two) becasue they are so sociable, and if you have two then they might not bond towards you quite as much. what do you think- any personal experiences?

I have 60 dollars to spend. I am going to buy some things for my Betta fish but Im not sure what exactly i should do.

I could buy the two females new bowls. 2.5 gallons instead of the one gallons they have now. That would leave me extra for other stuff...

or i could buy them a ten gallon aquarium and buy two more females. Then i could have a nice community betta aquarium.

What do you think?

We "rescued" a horse several years ago from a schooling barn that she hated. Our vet was almost positive that she had had a foal -likely more than one - earlier in her life. She recently passed away and was the best horse in the whole world. We are desparate to find her foal (or however many she may have had). Is there any way i could like put a picture of her or something up on some website and find out if anyone recognizes her and could tell me anything? Please, only answer this if you really think it will help, i dont need anything ridiculous. Thanks in advance.

I purchased a kitten, yesterday, from a pet store. He had his first set of shots and is due in two weeks for his second. I love him already, he's cute and easy so far, but when I hold him or when I'm close to him his claws scare me. They come out all the time and he always looks like he is scratching his claws at me. Am I doing something wrong? I am extremely gentle and when I called a local vet he told me to have him declawed. This is NOT an option. Can anyone with experience and knowledge of cats enlighten me to any alternatives. Also, at what age can I have my cat nutured and what are reasonable price ranges for an uninsured cat? Thank you!

I've noticed especially when it rains or is very damp outside that small brown slugs crawl all over my dogs food and water bowl ( which are on the front deck which has a roof ). I always try to get them off when I can but they keep coming back even through the night. My concern is are they harmful if he accidently or on purposely eats them?

My neighbor is taking care of her "grandpuppy," an almost 5 month old Newfoundland because her son and daughter-in-law have had to travel overseas to deal with a family emergency. Gramma has food, a crate, toys, etc. and the number of our local vet for emergencies so all is good for the basics.

I have volunteered to help walk/exercise the pup with Gramma who goes on twice daily power walks.

How far is too far to walk a pup this age for this breed? I know we need to be careful with a large breed puppy to protect her joints. (She'll be walking on pavement.)

And we can't call the breeder (don't know them---owners just moved back here 2 weeks ago and now have to leave) and Gramma doesn't want to call the local vet about a puppy the vet has never seen before on a holiday weekend.

So I told her I would toss this onto Answers and see if any breeders/dog people with large breed experience could give us guidelines.

Instead of keeping my boa and anotther snake in his cage, I often let him have free range of an assortment of large plants and two 7 foot fig trees I keep in the corner of my living room. They have access to heat and I only put them in their cage when i am gone for a long amount o time. The seem to love being up high or curled up around the base where they have access to water and I will even feed them when the come down. I used to keep anoles on a large tree and ferns in my living room before I meet and would like to have a couple more as there is plenty of space for them. I have a terrarium for them as well but would the snakes eat them if they are put on the plants?
