Hey, congratulations on the new arrival!! I hope someone's already hipped you to getting good, clean food (not the grocery-store crap, but some well-balanced, all-natural, preferably organic or near-organic-quality food without common allergens, age appropriate, etc.—it'll make all the difference for the rest of his life). As for the name: you'll want to refrain from using it too much anyway, so that when he hears it it carries weight, and that way he knows it's serious biz and he needs to listen up whenever he hears his name. But I think the best way to find the name is to ask the dog. You gotta learn dog sometime, anyway, so best to start now, while the dog's trying to learn your brand of language, too. Throw the question his way, give him some options that you've been kicking around and see what he thinks. Likely he knows what his name is already. Think great things, and suggest names accordingly. Killer's likely gonna grow up to be a thug dog, but Napoleon may rule the neighbourhood dogs by being a real leader dog and Samson will probably be big and strong, but not stupid or unduly aggressive (like old Knuckles down the block). We're a bit of a mafia family—New York dogs trained in Italian, named Vito, Leo and Richie. Richie's the Godfather, il capo de' capi—he picked his own name—but, in full, Vito is really named for Vittorio Emmanuele, King of Italy, and Julius Caesar (Giulio Cesare); Leo for my father Lee and Leonardo da Vinci. Each dog approved his name before being given it, and rejected a couple before selecting. And they're great dogs, or so say those they meet. I think they've lived up to their namesakes very well. They're noble and smart, they play freely, love deeply and protect loyally, like the best qualities of my father and their other namesakes.

A lot happens just by saying it, you know? You'll be saying this name a lot, and it's bound to have an effect on both of you. Choose wisely, and think great things.

Pets tend to pay more attention to names with an "ie" sound at the end. My cats are Sadie and Knobby. Well, they are cats and don't do what they are supposed to, so this is just a theory. What about "Dusty?" As a kid, my sis and I had a Shepherd pup with that name. Or Ernie cuz that is a good name for a doggie!

If that's what you prefer to call her, then call her that. do no longer enable people inform you what to call you canines. yet if you consider which you're asking my opinion. i do no longer think of that's a attractiveness acceptable for a German Shepherd. She desires a extra advantageous call. basically seem at her, if the call summer season suits her character then call her that, if it does not %. yet another call you like! :)
