We "rescued" a horse several years ago from a schooling barn that she hated. Our vet was almost positive that she had had a foal -likely more than one - earlier in her life. She recently passed away and was the best horse in the whole world. We are desparate to find her foal (or however many she may have had). Is there any way i could like put a picture of her or something up on some website and find out if anyone recognizes her and could tell me anything? Please, only answer this if you really think it will help, i dont need anything ridiculous. Thanks in advance.

I've seen other people do this and if they get responses I'm unsure. can't hurt to try. was this horse registered? if so check with that assoc and they may have a record of the foals and current owners, although most assoc wont' give out info. have you checked with the place you rescued her from or with previous owners? where are you located? you could put something up at local feed store also. most people if they have the info will try to help in any way poss. good luck

Sorry to hear about your loss. I don't think posting a picture will get you anywhere, though, unless she had very unusual markings.

I'd work with the barn owners. One question, though - how do you know she "hated" the barn? Just curious.

You should be able to track down the schooling barn owners. If they aren't cooperative, I think your chances will be slim at best without their help. Good luck.

call the schooling barn from where you got her, and ask them if they know her history and if they know if she had given birth before. If they do maybe they can tell you where her foals are. I really hope you find one of them, you sound like you loved your horse very much! Sorry for the loss!

Why not contact the former owners and ask them? Be respectful and don't open old wounds, just tell them what you want.
