I have a 4 1/2 month old bichon/yorkie mix and a 3 1/2 month old maltese/yorkie mix. I am having a terrible time with the housebreaking. They are practically living in a crate, except for the time out to eat, drink, and eliminate.I will take them out and they will pee then come into the house and pee within 5 minutes. Yes, I keep them out long enough and they usually squat at least twice. I give them such praises when they do go, I am sure the neighbors think I am crazy. If they do what they are supposed to do, I make sure they have play time and give them lots of attention. If not, it is back in crate for another 1/2 hr. I thought we were getting somewhere when I had 2 days with no accidents, but today it has been accidents all day long!!! I spend more time outside than I do in. They have been vet checked, so no physical problems. I cant understand why one minute the puppy will go to kitchen and look at door (like he is getting it) and the next time he will just squat on floor and go

I love cats and really want to have one in my apartment, but I live on the 11th floor and am worried that the cat will fall off the balcony. Of course I'd try to keep the balcony door closed, but if it ever did run out there, would a cat jump off accidentally, or would it sense its height?
Does anybody have experience wtih cats in an apartment with a balcony? I have only had cats in a private house before.

I just read that is your fish stay at the bottom of your tank and sit in one spot almost all the time it is stress .Well I have 2 red eye tetras and they are almost always at the bottom of the tank and just varely move out of their hiding spot..My tiger barb, serpea tetra and algae eater moves around and are very active.I do a 50% water change every week.Is this still stress or just the nature of the fish?

I purchased what I thought was a 3 pound at most, stud quality male. From WWW.YORKIEBABIEDOLLS.COM from Don Montgomery.
What I received at the air port was a 3 pound starved pup, ridden with coccidia, a second row of teeth, and definitely not of breeding quality. He is now a 6 pounder with a terrible coat and huge ears. But it gets worse, 2 months later he starts limping on his back leg. He was diagnosed with leg-calf Perthes disease and required a $1500 dollar surgery. This disease is inherited from this parents or someone in his parents line, I told Don about this yet he still breeds both the parents EVERY SINGLE HEAT!!! He has way to many females and I know now that he is running a puppymill. Don offers a health guarantee but he does not stand by it at all. I am just devastated that I did not do my research on THE BREEDER before I purchased. Don does all his business through the internet, so please spread the word on his horrible puppymill and hopefully we can put him out of business.
P.S. Fabio had his surgery and is recovering great!

Today while at the ER w/ my father I was on my lap top and the docs and nurses and I were looking at questions and answers and getting a good laugh from the "could I be pregant" questions when I decided to show them an answer I got yesterday from "gitemgang". So we started to read his other replies and It got us thinking what could possible promt someone to behave this way. So I thought I would ask everyone on this site as this is the area he most answers. We have surmised from his answers that he is a groomer but here is what we are wondering...Is he bitter because A. He is 40 bald and living w/ his mother ? B. confussed about his sexuality? or C. A man suffering from :little mans syndrome? What is your take. This is serious we really want to know. And by the way dad is doing ok he had a mild heart attack but was also entertained by this. Thanks.

When playing with my maltese puppy, she gets a bit aggressive and chomps and chews on me and my husband. She even tries to thrash us around like she's really attacking us and growls, too! She does this every time we play with her. Should we accept this as normal puppy behavior and will she grow out of it? Or is this something that needs to be addressed and corrected - even if she is still a puppy.

Another thing I don't like is when I'm lying in bed and she starts off being cute and licking my face...and out of nowhere, lunging at me and biting my face. My husband is being way too lenient with her, I think... am I being unreasonable?

I know a dyson or a kerbie will do the trick but unfortunately they are not in my current price range. Do any of you pet owners (specifically of cats) have any vaccum buying advice? My current vaccum is terrible and I'm looking for something new that wont leave pet hair behind (like the one I have now does even when I use the pet release powders) Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

It's really weird that she is acting like this. I have looked online on ear hematoma but none of the sypmtoms include low crouching and weak walking. We have to feed her by hand because she won't go to her bowl and we have to place her on the cat litter so that she can do her business. I am really worried about her. Can someone PLEASE help me?

How can I know if my turtle is male or female??? I want to know now, do not want to go to the pet shop, too far from home. It is a water turtle, one of those that have red around the eyes. I do not see anyting "down there" that indicates the sex.

My male black lab has been mopey for the past 2 days. I thought at first he was mopey because I had reprimanded him for getting loose and running around (which was my fault ultimately) but anyway...but today he was still mopey and I was petting and loving him when I noticed he's got a distended belly. I wouldn't say it's "extremely distended, but it's noticeable..I have an appointment with the vet but not till tomorrow at 4pm. I'm worried he might have a blockage. Has anyone had this happen?..what could it be? Any vets reading this? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Again...we ARE going to the vet.
