I'm thinking of raising dogs for profit. I have tons of room in the country, and will need to build facilities, but would like to design something that doesn't look or feel like a kennel / cage / prison. Something with common grounds where they can run and be a dog. With a separate whelping area, and separate areas to put dogs when they're aggressive. Am I being naive? Would anything like this work? If not, why not? Any legitimate ideas and comments would be welcome.

Hi,
I found a datson/spanial mix. She is precious. She was outside along a road w/ other big dogs. She had fleas, ticks, etc. We took her in, cleaned her up etc. We love her! We can't potty break her though. I have other dogs inside that go out use the bathroom, do great. This one, she goes outside wants to play w/ the dogs outside , then comes in and usese the bathroom. What can I do? She will even poop/pi on book bags etc. She gets the urge and their she goes. No hints either. You just see it/ smell etc. Help! I have 8 dogs. I've not ever had this kind of trouble potty training.
Thanks!
Patti & Gidget ( the dog) :)

Thanks to every-one who sent me ideas on how to avoid losing my arms to kitten savagery.....no joke.
I think I may have found the solution.....every time he launches an attack I stare and hiss at him really loudly and in quite a fierce way,a few days on and he does seem to be getting the message.
I know it's not a question but thought it might be helpful to any-one in the same situation.

ok in april my mare went lame in her left front leg the day after a jump off. Her lameness only shows on the right rein - shes sound on the left. It worsens and improves in different paces/ground condition. X rays showed nothing, there is no chance of it being laminitis/thrush etc etc. One vet block froze her leg and thought the problem was between her pastern and her knee. The other one thinks its a thing called muscular paralysis in her shoulder.
Currently she is out to grass with shoes off.
There is no heat/cuts/swelling in her leg - shes a half bred so is nimbly enough boned.
After spending thousands of euro on vets and still having no proper diagnosis of the problem im wondering can anyone out there contribute any input into whats wrong with her? Ive been around horses all my life and never came across anything like this. My plan is to leave her to grass until the end of the year, but would be willing to try bio-energists etc to bring her back to work sooner. Thank you

I recently set up a 10 gallon freshwater tank for my son. I used non chlorinated water and let the tank run 36 hours before purchasing fish for the tank. I tested the PH, which was fine prior to adding fish. I purchased 3 Columbian Sharks, which all died within 24 hrs. I tested the tank again for PH levels and also tested for ammonia, which was negative. I then purchased different varities of "Barbs", which seem to be doing ok but the water is now cloudy.

Some dog foods have meat products as first ingredient and I have been told that is a good thing. I have seen some listed with 23% crude protein and wonder how much is digestible. But somewhere along the line I have gotten the idea that too much protein damages the kidneys. Do you think 23% crude protein is adequate or too much?

My dog, Butler, is going through a paralysis. We are not sure if it is temporary or long term. I took him to the vet with a paralyzed paw and it spread throughout his entire body. One week later he is scooting around and pulling up on his back legs. I would appreciate any ideas that would make it easier but one that is extremely important is going potty. He is going potty once a day and is poing once every 3 days. Anything would be helpful in my quest to get him back to his old self. Thank you. Lisa

I read Mandarin Fish fight with their own species but I do not know if this means Green Mandarins will only fight with other Green Mandarins or if they will fight with any other type of fish such as the Spotted Mandarin.

I would love to have both in my tank. Is this possible? If so what is the minimum tank size to house one of each?

Please feel free to reference any type of website that has information about Mandarin Fish.

Thank you!!!

I have just purchased a dwarf rabbit, my concerns are how much rabbit pellet food are you suppose to give, and can the dwarf rabbit live outside or does it need to say inside? Any extra tips on dwarf rabbits would be a great help, Thanks 2 all.
