well depending on the breed. i have 4 dogs and they get fed once a day. i would say once a day usually in the evening if you prefer to do. most breeds are different when it comes to the feedings, and depending on the size of them. sm-med breeds you can feed 2*day, med -lg breeds can be fed once a day and lg-xlg breeds need to be fed more than the average dog because of their body size. it is harder to keep weight on those types of dogs as to pose of the other size dog breeds. just be careful not to feed to much at one time the puppies will tend to gorge themselves, and sometimes get sick like vomiting their food back up. but in the end you will know how much your puppies will eat in one sitting.so it is up to you on how many times a day you will feed your dogs. go by your instincts on how much to feed them. good luck

These answers are killing me! LOL!!!
Different breeds have different needs. Larger dogs need more feedings, for instance, Great Danes are supposed to eat 3-5 times daily until they are a year old where smaller dogs only need to eat twice daily. Feeding depends on the GROWTH needs of the puppy.

Space the times out evenly and if you are housebreaking, you may not want to feed your puppy anything late, like after 7PM because he/she may use it indoors if he can't hold until the morning.

What? You all must have obese puppies!?!

At 5 months, they only require one main meal a day. The best time to feed them this is in the evening. Goodluck!

We have eight dogs and leave dry food down for them 100% of the time. They graze all day instead of pigging out a couple of times each day. We keep fresh water down for them, as hydration is as important as food for puppies and dogs. Keep in mind that the younger puppies need more nourishment because of their fast growth rate. Keeping the food available prevents the dogs from going into feeding frenzies like dogs do that receive their food a couple of times per day. All of our dogs fall into normal weight categories for their breed. You can see pictures of our pack on our website. Limit the treats to a few times per week to keep the dog from becoming over weight.

Good luck!

Take a look at the dog food bag. It should have a chart with recommended feedings and amounts by weight.
I free feed mine. There is no food agression and no over feeding when they have access to the food all the time.
I've found that pups started on free feeding grow up to be thin adults.
Dogs started on free feeding tend to over eat.

3 times a day. Set your own time. In the am. lunch. dinner. But always do it at the same time each day if possible. If you work or go to school. am & pm is fine.
