My elderly friend is in the hospital, and may not be coming home. I have been feeding and watering his dog for 3 months and the dog still wont let me get close enough to pet him. I bring him treats when I go over, and toys, yet he wont take them from me, only if I put them on the ground and walk away. The dog is about 4 years old. A black lab. He has never been around anyone but my friend, never walked on a leash, never been for a ride in a car, or to the park.Never been out of his yard. So how do I turn this dog into a good pet, so if my friends dies, I can find him a good home?I spend a half hour every weekday with this dog, and a couple of hours a day on the week ends. I have 3 small dogs and 1 cat, and am worried that if I bring my friends dog here, he will kill them, or be very unhappy. So I need to train him to be a good pet, so if I can't keep him, I can find him a home

the horse i bought is a 12 year old paso fino. i have recently discovered that at some point in her life she suffered a left broken hip or pelvis which was surgically repaired. she walks fine, but when riding with weight when she gets to a canter she seems to favor this hip and sort of gives way to it. but she does not balk at anything you ask her to do and does not seem to be in pain. i am just worried that she could give way and fall on me. is an old injury of this type dangerous to me or my horse?

My older female spayed cat hisses and growls but then she eventually gets up to walk away, and then my new cat (a neutered male) runs after her in an attack-like way! It makes me so nervous that they will get in a rough fight... but should I let them work it out?

Well, i just got a new coonhound puppy and i got her from a friend who says that the puppy has had the wormer. But, i foung a long rubber band looking object ending in a long spiral in her poop and her barf. Does she have worms, and if so what kind? But, shes only 9 wks old. Please please help me i luv her and cant afford an expensive medication if she does have worms!

i have a 4 month old australian shephard. he is so uncontrollable that my parents want to place him in a pound.

i cant afford to pay for obedience training classes. so i'll need to train him before my parents turn him in.

please help me fix the following problems:

1. he splashes his water bowl. he'll splash and splash until there is no more water. then he's thirsty.... kiddie pool don't work cause he splashes all the water out too.

2. he runs in to the house all wet and muddy whenever the door is opened. parents get mad of course.

3. he chases and jumps on my kittens. they get so pissed they try to scratch his eyes out. so skin around his eyes bleed from being scratched.

4. he eats anything and everything. he's eaten dead snakes, plants, cat poo, etc. and he ends up throwing up.

Hello, I'm from Arkansas. Some of my buddies and I are having a disagreement. Can someone settle our dispute. Are cottonmouth snakes and water moccasins the same snake? And are they poisonous? I say they are the same, but we do not agree. Thanks,

I had to shave doe doe all the way to the skin and remove all her furr because my possum stinky gets allergic reactions from the furr. Since that day doe doe hasnt moved much and only ate 2 chicken bones and some water. Is doe doe just happy about her fresh her cut that food is the last thing on her mind? Stinky is happy though hes not sneezing as much. I love my possum. They are great pets.

I was clipping his nails when he flinched weird and made me cut too deep in his nail as well as the little pad part on his toe. How can I fix this with out taking him to a vet? Right now he had a band-aid on with some tape around it to keep him from messing with it.

The last couple of days I have been taking my dog out for walks. They have been short maybe ten minutes, but she has been panting heavy, and her nose has been warm to the touch. I know they pant to cool off but is she panting to much. I don't want to hurt her. Thanks for the help.
