Just moved into a new house in the country. People before us left their dog. By my calculations it's been about 12 weeks that she has been pregnant. We do not have a shelter in this area, and no vets within 50 miles. I can't afford to take her to a vet, much less drive an hour to do so. I've read that normal pregnancy for dogs is 9 weeks. Is there anything that I can do to induce her? Or should I just wait it out? Her temperature is still 102, however 2 days ago she started dripping fluid from the vaginal area, but still no pups. She has a safe place, and I just don't know what else I need to do to help her. Any suggestions?

I am planning on getting an outdoor kitten as a friend for my out side cat (whose brother was hit by a car).

I live in the country and need out side cats for rodent control.

There is a raccoon living some where near by that comes up on my porch at night and eats cat food. Is there any way to get rid of him so he can't hurt the kitten, or will it not hurt the kitten?

I don't want the raccoon harmed either. I really think it's cool, it's not even in a zoo.

I was raised in the city and new to country life so I would appreciate knowledgeable answers. Thanks :-D

My cat had her first litter 5 weeks ago and she still seems big. Plus she's not feeding the kittens (5) as much as she used to and she's leaking because of it. She does go outside about 2 times a day but stays close to home. Its our 1st cat and we took her in before we knew she was preg. It's a new experience for us. Thanks for your input.

I have a cat, he's about 10 months old. He's been an indoor kitty living in our garage and basement for the past 9 months. He's going to go outside and be an outdoor cat this Friday/Saturday after he gets his final leukemia shot that he needs. I was wondering if I should be worried about him being outside or running away. He doesn't really come when I call him, but he does come to my mom. We live on a pretty quiet street where there are about 5 other outdoor cats living. All of those cats are okay. Should I be worried about ours though? What are some last minute things I should take care of? To let you know: he is neutered. So, please, PLEASE help me get through this. He's my first cat, and I love him soooo much. If anything happened to him, I'd never get over it. He is my true companion. I need some quick advice.
Thanks,
Paige

It's the classic case of an owner abusing its dog, constantly hitting it, ranging from swats with the hand to using golf clubs. If there's a local animal abuse office or shelter or something in my area, I live in area code 91706 (CAlifornia)

So i got a pet white mouse yesturday, and all she does is sleeps. Is this normal? Maybe is she just adapting to her environment?

Do you think she may be depressed because she is not with all of the other mice she lived with b4?

The dog is now in the pound under quarantine and hasn't had a shot for 3 years and might be put down because of this. Is there something this family can do to keep it's dog? The dog is very well behaved. He was told to stay away from the dog. Please help!
