So i got a pet white mouse yesturday, and all she does is sleeps. Is this normal? Maybe is she just adapting to her environment?
Do you think she may be depressed because she is not with all of the other mice she lived with b4?

Oh yea, we take her out for atleast half an hour a day to run in her ball thingy. And we try to hold her whenever she is awake.

If you just got her I would definitely give her time to get used to her new home (and mice are nocturnal, so take that into account too). If the problem is just that she needs to get settled in then you'll gradually see her come out of her bed more often, and explore. But let her decide in the beginning how much interaction she wants.
Please first make sure though that she's not sick. Does she generally look and act healthy, and does she eat and drink enough?
A really excellent place to go to find out everything about taking care of your mouse is on this forum, just about pet mice:

I just wanted to add too that you should be REALLY careful about adding another mouse with the one you have, because they could fight and really hurt each other. Even if it's a mouse from the same cage at the shop where she came from, now that she's been separated from the others she could see anyone new as an intruder in her space.
Good luck with your new friend...I have mice too and they're very lovable and affectionate pets, once they get to know you.

First you may want to give it time to ajust to its new enviroment. After about a week or two if it still does nothing even at night then you may have a prob. Mice only sleep for like an hour at a time and you should rarely see it sleeping because just the noise of you walking near should wake it.

Rats are completely different than mice. Rats crave (and to an extent need) a companion. Mice couldnt care less rather or not they have a companion. My friend has a mouse and it sleeps all the time then at night you can hear it running in its wheel. But you can get it a companion if you want to.

Mice are nocturnal. They sleep during the day, and are awake at night. Get him a wheel so he won't be bored.

She needs a friend, but you MUST make sure that they are both female. Males will fight and hurt each other, but females wull live to gether OK. Also, if you get her a male friend, within 3 weeks you will have MANY MANY babies...not what you want..

wouldn't you be depressed if you were the only one of your kind stuck in a small confined area with nothing to do and no companionship?
