We created the mess that the Taliban exploited in Afganistan and we are doing damn little there now as we got what we wanted...a natural gas pipeline...when will we realize THERE IS A MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX and it seeks war to create profit and incite fear thus enabling political tyranny.

After all, if 30 month for Scooter Libby for obstruction of justice, is excessive, than 30 years for Conrad Black for the same offense is outrageous.

I'm all for freedom of speech people but there's a time and place for it. I've seen actual footage of people with posters saying all kinds of heinous, mean things at the funeral of soldiers. I don't care if you protest the war or not - it's incredibly mean and disrespectful to disrupt a funeral of anyone. These families are already grieving the loss of a loved one and then they have to deal with war protesters being completely disrespectful of their loss? I think it's HORRIBLE and I can't believe Congress hasn't passed a federal law against it. They have to stay a certain feet away but to me, that's not enough. I hope everyone on here writes their senators to complain. War protesters should be able to protest - that's their freedom - but do they have to do it at a funeral? NO CLASS. Ok - I realize there's not really a question here so much as me venting. Sorry! :)

I think I know the answer, but would like to hear other's viewpoints. I think the country will be taken over by either insurgents from Syria or Iran, and there will be total chaos with no one operating the oil filelds.

Iraq was never a "good" war. There were never WMD. It has become an Al Queda side show designed to drain us of troops and power. Today a report in the news stated Al Queda had rebuilt. The most important part was they have a base in the Pakistani tribal lands. When you want to kill a snake first you focus on cutting off it's head. Then you find and burn out it's nest. Iraq has totally destracted us from the main focus of this war. And it should be focused on dystroying Al Queda and it's main supporters. Not some generic term like "war on terror". How many Americans out there agree with me?

Why do people feel the need to spend so much time and energy bashing the hell out of the McCann’s? Its such a tragic situation that no one would wish on anybody.

Is it because their own lives are so dull and sad that they get pleasure out of kicking other people?

Is it because they are deeply inadequate in their work / home life and with no power over anyone or anything that this gives them a feeling of power and superiority?

Is it something in there physiological make up? The same people slow down to watch car accidents (rubber necking).

I would love to hear a Physiologists view.

Is there a link between the banning of smoking on aircraft and Air Rage? If so, as people in England (the most violent culture in Western Europe) become more frustrated by the smoking ban, mixed with alcohol, could this lead to an even more violent street culture than we have already?

Would that necessarily be a bad thing for civil liberties? Sometimes you need to push it to get things inequalities changed.

a Muslim that converts to another religion (like Christianity) can be punished by death. Wherever it exists, it rules by force (not peace). In this and the last century, there has been far far far more violence in the name of Islam than every other religion combined.
