by his insane ranting ..........the girls on the team were well spoken and didn't come across as being all that offended, they didn't even care till this "reverend" blew it out of the water and played the race card. If you watched or listened to Imus, you would know that he is indeed and equal opportunity offender, granted, a less than nice comment, but it was not the only one, he did it every day......every day to all.....I think that in additon to kids with cancer, autism and the recovering vets from the war that he has helped so very much are not the only ones who will lose here. I feel very badly for african americans who will undoubtably be associated with this man and once again, become the "they" or "those people", everyone lost here in my opinion, what about YOU?......

Maybe they do it to other countries too, I don't know. I certainly wouldn't.

What is it that makes them think that's okay?

Do you think if he could not have gotten a gun that this would have stopped him from killing all those people? Anyone who wants to kill will find away to do so. People who kill are sick. They are either looking to get high, so they need money, get at someone because they hurt them, or they are targeting certain groups (ethnic or religious groups come to mind). This guy was targeting people according to the letter left behind that he wrote.

Isn't it sad? If only more students at Virginia Tech had guns, this tregedy wouldn't have happened. But, instead of using this common sense, some people want to make guns illegal to all people. Problem is, criminals will always have guns. Between 1971 and 1997, there was a pistol ban, and the crime rate rose by 200%. I know, cause I was around. Respond to this to offer your views, not to tell me I'm wrong.

32 was killed is a big deal... American want the world to know how sad they are... Bush expressed his sorrow to this tragic event. BUT, did those people ever feel bad about those who die in Iraq? When Katrina hit NO, did bush showed up as quick as this seeming little incident? The answer is NO and there are more places where bad guys will find places to do the same in american soil. Unfair and unblanced...

I sorta feel that a slight, or maybe moderate, air of hostility is coming between Americans and Koreans.
It's pretty sure that Cho Seung-Hui, a South Korean, was responsible for the shootings, and being a South Korean myself, I just feel a little insecure and even sorta embaressed/ashamed. Let's just hope that tensions do not escalate any further.

Is it okay for me to feel this way?

....what appeared in this case, to be much needed help?? or be asked to leave and not allowed to ever return?

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The gunman suspected of carrying out the Virginia Tech massacre that left 33 people dead was described Tuesday as a sullen loner whose creative writing in English class was so disturbing that he was referred to the school's counseling service.
News reports also said that he may have been taking medication for depression, that he was becoming increasingly violent and erratic, and that he left a note in his dorm in which he railed against "rich kids," "debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus.

no, we can never know what people are capable of. But we had Columbine and other incidents, and we did see a trend...all of them had problems..were basicaly loners, and nonconformists.

For god's sakes, events like yesterday, are HORRIBLE, to think some places you can actually have big dangerous murderous criminals walk into a shop and buy a GUN. I'm sorry BUT I would NEVER want to live in any country like that, yes americans have more freedom, freedom to be shot dead at their own university. That's sick - no wander why there's so much crime such as roberies and stuff in that country. Greatest country my ArS.E

Please contribute information and your views about this tragic event.

I think that it is absolutely awful. There should have been extensive security for an university of its kind. I send my condolences to anyone that was a victim or related to a victim of this tragedy.

Other English-speaking countries control gun usage strictly. But what's wrong with America?
Most often, I feel more insecure in urban areas. This is not the case in Australian or Canadian cities

How much of the blame should "Presidents" Bush and Blair share. Surely their actions in Iraq must have contributed? (based on false evidence) I am a 64 year old white englishman - and proud of it? but , not condoning the massacre, I am very unhappy with the "ammunition" we in the west have provided to those opposed to western values. Please, without racil overtones, tell me what you really think about this terrible situation?

A member of the administration of Virginia tech, where the shooting recently happened, in 2006 praised a law passed on campus forbidding students to carry their legally owned self defense guns on campus, or to store them in their dorm rooms, legally their residencies. Why will guns, not this law making students defenseless, be blamed for the deaths?
