Isn't it sad? If only more students at Virginia Tech had guns, this tregedy wouldn't have happened. But, instead of using this common sense, some people want to make guns illegal to all people. Problem is, criminals will always have guns. Between 1971 and 1997, there was a pistol ban, and the crime rate rose by 200%. I know, cause I was around. Respond to this to offer your views, not to tell me I'm wrong.

I agree with you 100%. I have been planning on getting my concealed handgun license but this has put that into the front of my mind and now I will be getting it as soon as I have the money. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted with all of this.

You make it difficult not say you are wrong with students having guns.
Guns, and I own them, are an insurance policy.
But there is no relationship between students having guns that could have deterred that incident.
With my deepest sympathy for the students that were murdered and those that were injured, I ask myself why in the heck didn't they swarm and overtake that guy?
I'll never forget the words from that guy on the plane (9/11) that said "Lets Roll".
Guns, whether they are concealed or not, are absolutely necessary in today's society.
Most of my friends carry concealed guns...with or without a permit. They would not hesitate to shoot someone if they sensed danger.
To be honest...I could not kill anyone...I would try to negotiate first...and hope that whoever was planning on killing me would just leave!
The killer at the University snapped! We will never know his thoughts.

That sounds like a common sense answer to the problem, but allowing people to carry guns at the school would create an even bigger problem. What about the people that may get caught in the line of fire when a student who is trying to defend himself against anothe student opens fire. It is not a very good idea at all. There would be an all out war on campuses across the country if we allow that to happen. It's just not an idea that I can see making schools any safer at all.

Because stuff like this is GOING to happen. Just like it's GOING to hit 90 degrees sometime this Summer... None of us knows WHEN that will occur....-We just know it WILL. And the MORE guns there are "floating around" -the MORE people are going to get shot & killed. So we have a "choice" -either get RID of the people who use the guns (for any one of 538 reasons), OR- get rid of the guns. Personally- I'm like YOU; I'd trim the population of the Country by 80 or 90 million- & keep the guns... But hey- who am I to say? :)

Nobody bothers to reference the fact that the killer was taking SSRI's.
SSRI 's [anti depressants] have a long conection with suicide and extreme homicide in the US,but because they are such a huge profitable industry currently any attempts to address this have been kicked back by the FDA or not mentioned on tv.
All the gun related massacres over the past ten years have been committed by people on one of these drugs. The US really needs to find an alternative.
These drugs can cause Akathisia, mental and physical agitation that sparks self-destructive, violent behavior. They can also induce dissociative reactions, making those who take the drugs INSENSITIVE to the consequences of their behavior.
I don't know many more massacres it will take for the US to realise this point, the drugs REMOVE emotional context.
Thank god in Austalia the advertising of these drugs are banned and alot of them are banned altogether in the UK.

Thankyou for many popular us in prayer. the main we are in a position to do for friends and familys of those poor scholar sufferers is prayer. Thankyou for this prayer. Now there is investigations and to be taught of who this person became into to reason so poor a tragedy. i think of all of us have intense doubts approximately how the guy who already killed 2 human beings became into allowed to proceed to be on campus and kill 33 pupils in yet another construction bulding 2hours later. i'm outraged. A warning had to be further to each lecture room that a intense threat to the protection of the pupils. The professionals say oh nicely the campus has a superb type of scholars comming and stepping into and out all day long how can we be answerable for absolutely everyone.? perhaps a warning for the pupils and instructors? The police concept oh nicely it incredibly is in ordinary terms those 2 poor ineffective human beings we could see who they are linked with right here on campus? meanwhile the shooter became into having a cup of espresso on the scholar center cafeteria and somebody would desire to have warned the entire campus. that they had 2 hours to close down the campus and get the little ones in there dorms the place thy can lock themselves in till the police understand the killer. to discover the killer,... rather they only lollygag around the only little room the place the 1st killing surpassed off no longer even a concept the guy became into in all danger having a cup of espresso in the scholar center cafeteria. i'm sorry for the ineptitude of authoritys to think of previous what's already there. i'm sorry that prayer is the main we are in a position to do for the sufferers friends and kinfolk. In Columbine the cops have been indecisive approximately what to do next so as that they stood around outdoors the construction for 2 hours jointly as the killing went on interior. right here the cops stood around 2 corpses for 2hours no longer a concept some killer sitting precise there of their midst having a cup of cofee.

There is too much violence in this country. Too many people die every year from violence. People need to start volunterring to help other people or even animals..
Oh you can do is, or least I hope you would do is to spend more time with your kids or your friends or neighbor kids, read a book to a child, if you have time volunteer at youth groups such as mentoring programs.

guns will never be allowed on campus. all there has to be is a small confrontation between two students and it could turn deadly if they are on campus.
