I totally agree with you. There's no excuse to why the campus wasn't closed down after the first incident. It's a shooting, not a fight or someone got stabbed. Two ppl were dead, point blank. That's more of a reason to close the f'ing school down. Why wasn't it broadcast over the loud speaker. A school that big has got to have a loud speaker warning students. They should've had security at every entrance when students were arriving to the campus to redirect them back home until the first incident was thoroughly investigated.
This is a cover-up. 26,000 students could've been warned in 2 hours. Someone needs to be fired for this s**t. This is unacceptable.
I really feel sorry for the parents and families of the students and faculty members that were lost due to this tragedy.
Please everyone stop making excuses for the Admin, and the Chief officer of the school. Whether or not, the first incident was a domestic dispute, two students were killed and that was enough grounds to shut the campus down completly. Two hours was enough time to get the word across campus and could've of possibly save 32 student lives.

First, I offer my condolences to the victims and their families. One person, and one person alone, should be blamed for the tragedy - the Shooter.
We don't need more security on Universities (not that it would be possible if we did need it). We don't need gun control (it probably wouldn't have made a difference in this case anyway).
This event was an isolated incident. It will be played out in the media for weeks and months to come because it gives pundits something to talk about and sensationalism = ratings.

stevers is right . they always call someone who does something like this a "loner". Do we know all the facts yet, or is it the taking heads on the 24 hr. networks, just running with something that a student said, who may not even know him that well? I don't know, this was totally tragic. But here again the media is trying to out do each other at the expense of the victims. the networks should wait until they get all the facts before putting things out on the air.

I, too, offer my condolences to the families of the victims. Sorry, I'm not a good enough Christian to feel sorry for the shooter. I wish he'd just killed himself first and spared the other 32 people's lives. What a coward. Whatever his 'motivation' for killing others, I don't feel a bit of sympathy for him. Yes, we all have a breaking point but very few of us end up killing others because we have had bad childhoods, are picked on, etc. There are other ways to deal with things like this.

I agree whole heartedly with you and also send my condolences to the victims' families and friends.
You asked what I thought about the massacre and I can only say ... I feel saddened that humankind simply won't or can't stop killing each other. Be it one on one with knives, guns, beatings, poison etc. or out of greed, jealousy, mental illness, hatred, etc.
I wish that we as a people could STOP the war within us and let this world be a peaceful place to live out lives!
Thanks for allowing me to voice my thoughts.

It is truly sad that this young man had to commit this terrible act. It was obviously pre-meditated according to the long note he left behind. Maybe he was just pushed over the edge one too many times. And why did he pick the engineering building? It is sad for everyone. We must learn to better understand and appreciate each other so things like this don't happen again. But the sad thing is it probably will. Peace to all.

They keep calling the shooter a loner, like it is some kind of disease. People don't realize how introverts are picked on and how much it can hurt. I sure do send out my best to the families of the poor victims. I hope this helps some. We are all victims of a tragedy like this one.

I was a little surprised to hear about this kind of thing happening at a university. I can understand high school a little more because there are people there who really don't want to be there and they are pissed off and lash out because the law makes them go. When you go to college, you pay money to go there and learn something, get a degree and make something of yourself. I'm not saying college students don't have issues but, if someone is that unstable they need to be seeking professional help rather than worrying about going to college.
I also worry this is just another sign of how our society is steadily being flushed down the crapper. Everyone needs to listen to the Nickelback song "If Everyone Cared" and take it to heart.

Like all civilized people I am very saddened by what happened. However I regret to say, I know after 4 or 5 days or more of the press milking it for every last ounce of ratings, I will be sick of the whole mess.
