My mom-in-law passed away and we are moving into her house. She lived there for 45 yrs with all the accumulation that goes with it and then some, along with a lot of antiques. I dont know what is worth keeping or not and need to make room for our "stuff" too. Unfortunately have had bad expiriences having people come into our home to help with identifying pieces worth keeping. I just dont know where to start to make space for our "stuff" since she was (like me) a "pack rat". We really need to get a move on this and stop dragging our feet. There is so much in the house that we are overwhelmed and we really dont know where to start. We have at least donated the clothing and gotten rid of perishables. Any suggestions on how to proceed with the cleaning out of the house enough to make room for our belongings?

My kitchen window faces next door's and both blinds were up, with my next door neighbour doing his washing up and looking out of the window - eye contact was made! I saw my look of surprise and horror reflected in his face!

Then last week my husband saw the girl next door naked, in a similar situation. Do you think the men should show us their privates just to even things up a bit?

I've gotten different answers from different sources. One site defines it as electromagnetism. I find this hard to believe.

A man in our street has a very messy garden with all you can imagine. Cars trucks boats ambulances those car hoists motorbikes and smashed up cars. I live in such a lovely area, its a shame about this house thats 2 doors away (my house is terraced) now he started to complain because a ball hit one of his smashed up cars by accident and he got an innocentyoung boy an asbo. Now he has cameras all over the place, and the other month I was over my friends house who lives in my street but round the corner and we were installing sky into his new telly, when it picked up his camera signal and we saw everything it was pointing at! and you can see my house! I feel so violated and he can see everything. I live on a row of 5 houses anhe lives on the end im in the middle, he just brought the house on the end so he ownes the 2 semis on our row and i think he has a camera pointing to his other house from the one he lives in. But its pointing at my house too! I didnt get to record the thing i picked

I built three 6x6 planter boxes that are each 19 inches tall. Our neighbors have a rabbitry, and I have filled the boxes 1/2 with a mixture of fresh manure and straw. Would I be stupid to top them off with topsoil and a few bags of decomposed compost and plant vegetables in them? Is the fresh manure far enough down that it won't harm the plants? Will it actually help to warm up the soil a bit sooner? (We are in a northern climate - hardiness zone 5-6 -Spokane WA to be exact.) I have planted squash and pumpkins in fresher manure with success - but don't know about some of these other plants: Some of our seeds are onions, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, corn, tomatoes, jicama, squash, pumpkins, and herbs.

I have some older wood which I made into planter boxes. I have already filled the insides with soil and compost in preparation for spring planting. Is it worth it to paint the outside of the wood, in hopes it will keep it from rotting any sooner? Or will this actually be harmful to the plants?

My cousin is getting married in September and wants to buy some glass hurricane lamps for the tables (the type you put candles/sand into). Any ideas where I can get about a dozen, obviously not too expensive? Went to Ikea this morning and they did not have any?

Need a way to run them out out of the yard..We have Chickens, dogs and cats though so really do not want to use poison. Need a way to run them further away from the areas they seem to like that is to close in to the house. Any Ideas? This is the first time we have ever had the problem.

They are coming out of the wall on the other side is my washer and dryer. A friend said to use vinegar where they come out. I prefer not to use insecticide. If this method is true, can someone tell me how to do this? Or maybe another idea? Thank You.

In May 2003, 3M rolled out it's Ultrathon insect repellant (originally
developed for the military) to the mass market. I'm trying to find out
how the product has done since then. Has it been a success or failure
compared to the established players like Off! If it has been a
failure, why?
