Hello,

(ANS) If you live within a conservation area the local authorities can have very specific (tight) guidelines & rules about what home owners can & cannot do to their properties.

This is especially true when it comes to the exterior look or design of a property, you normally have to comply with the rules & regulations. Sometimes the local authorties will even send out an inspector to look at your proposed changes.

**Who or wheather you would get a grant to carry out the exterior work is another issue entirely.

**It would depend if the refacing work was deemed essential or just purely cosmetic.

**My parents house is within a conservation area & they are not allowed to cut their trees without prior planning permission and that can take as long as 3-4months!!
