It should be fine. You aren't the only person who left the air conditioner in the window all winter :-) We do that regularly in Oregon without any problem. You have about the same climate.

without problems, no window unit air conditioner installs nicely sufficient which you are not getting some air leakage around it, so that's no longer capability-useful to leave them in. Plus, the unit in all probability lasts longer if that's no longer sitting out in the ice and snow all wintry climate.

I do it every year here in the Northwest. I just make sure that it has a well padded insulated cover on the overhang that is on the outside. e.g old sweatshirt and 4-6mil plastic covering securely tied around it. Never have had a problem with it getting wet or when the heat of summer comes back round.

if you live in an area with cold climate, where you need to turn on the heater or burn some coal, then remove the window unit and get split ac unit.

i have never seen anyone take a window unit out. i think you can leave them in year round. however i dont live where it snows.
