My freezer is 32 years old, my washing machine 10, TV 15, car 8. I bought all of them new, none have had repairs apart from exhaust and tyres on the car.

Have I just been lucky or do people throw stuff away long before it is wore out?

I see all kinds of different prices, but I don't know how to distinguish them other then assuming because one is more expensive then the other it is better. What should I be looking for and what is a reasonable price for a king size bed. I would like a pillow top. I've seen prices all the way from $1500 to $400.

I recently purchased a new dishwasher and washed a pan with leftover spaghetti sauce in it, now the white walls and door of the dishwasher are stained orange. I have tried Tang and ran that through an empty dish cycle twice, and it has not lessened the stains. What else does anyone recommend trying?

I mean, not weird stuff, but vegetables. I saw something like beets growing in the small compost heap in the corner of the yard, and I was wondering if that happens often, and is it safe to eat?

i've just bought lavender seeds to grow, and it says to sow them indoors 6-10 weeks before the last spring frost, but it's already spring here, should i still grow them indoors for that period of time, or do i just plant the seeds outside in a place with a lot of sunlight?

Today I noticed on the side of my house, a large amount of insects that I've never seen before. They are about the size & shape of a lightning bug. They are completely black except for small red markings on the back. There is no specific design to the markings...each bug seemed to have an individual set of marks. They are flying bugs and, like I said, were in a large group of about 100 all on the side of my house. I live in Ohio and the weather has just began to get warm. If any one knows what type of bug this may be, please let me know. I've been searching and searching, but I haven't found anything yet. Thanks so much!

I have tried looking online. My boyfriend had this plant here since I moved in with him but doesn't know what it is. I am curious. Here are the links to a couple pictures I have taken. One is a close up of the leaves, one is a picture of the whole plant.

I live in a house with 4 apt's. All three of us have a landis model electric meters running out electricity, but the one aprt at top, best apt here has (GE meter model electric meter)?

I notice she dont; compain about high bills only all three of us.
-3 same meters, landis brand and one GE meter brand ?

The other apartment has had a replacement meter, brand new one. hasn't changed the PUC consumption one bit ??

Is our 3 meters ridged, or tampered by utility company before brought in ? we all have baseboard heaters, I guess they can blame our usuage on that ? Could i have a junction point spliced with top floor, using my bill ?

any suggestion on this ?

I have two older cats and one kitten and tons of ants. I don't want to use any of the products you can buy in the store because of the cats. I used to know of a mixture you made of stuff around the house but I can't remember it.

My plant has a stem that is longer and woody-like.

Someone said that it was a corn plant, but the corn plant has a darker main stem. Does the lighter stem grow out from the green leaves? This is a link to a corn plant.

I have huge bumble bees - I guess that's what they are. I have wood siding on my house and every year these stupid bees come in droves and bore holes in my wood. Not to mention they annoy me and my dog. I don't have any idea where their nest is to get them there. Anything I can effectively treat the wood with? I've tried regular bee sprays and WD-40, but that only kills them one at a time. It doesn't get rid of them in mass amounts. Thanks!
