My sister has the same problem. She uses the vaccuum cleaner to suck them out. The only way to prevent them from getting into your house is to reseal all the openings, particularly cracks around windows and doors. When she did that, she cut the numbers of ladybugs the next time around dramatically.

I should add that my sister loves ladybugs and approves of them in her garden, but she was getting THOUSANDS of ladybugs in her porch entry and hundreds in the house.

First of all, ladybugs are a friend to any plants you may have and are not the same a japanese beetles. To get them out of the house and prevent them from coming in, use screens on your windows, a good screen door with a closer to keep it shut when the kids go in and out etc...

Here you should read this article first http://minneapolis.about.com/cs/phototours/a/ladybugs.htm
Can't really get rid of them other than using mass amounts of pesticides or preventing farmers from trying to use organic methods of pest control. Best thing to do is seal up your windows and doors as well as any other cracks in your house. As for me I spray my garden with mass amounts of DDT as it works well to kill other pests higher up in the foodchain like birds, in fact the best way to kill a mocking bird is with DDT.

open the windows and let them fly outside, they're great for the garden, but annoying in the house.

Yes, collect them, pan fry them and serve them over eggs. They get the message.
