Single bees won't sting you if you do not disturb them. However if there is a swarm, Thousands of bees, they can. If a swarm, call a bee keeper or the fire department. They can tell you who to contact in your area. If just bees around the house normally in a rural area. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone.
There are many types of bees, Honey bee, Bumble bee, Sweat bee, etc. There are also many different wasps.
If you live in a rural area and have two acres of open land, you will have insects. Part of the program. Smile. Also they don't bite, they sting.
If you want to kill them, use Yard Guard Wasp & hornet insecticide. Sprays 20 feet.

I think they know you are afraid. If they are wasp get a little yellow hanging container from the garden store (home depot) and it has a little packet that you open and put inside. Hang it up away from the door and that should get the wasps. Leve the bees alone you need them for your garden and they will not hurt you. Do not wear bright clothing when going outside it does attract them..Make sure you do not have a wasp nest nearby, if so knock it down or have someone who knows how do so.(The provide foam spray at the garden store for this too) You probably have flowers or something they like. Barbecue even will attract critters that fly.

A quick trick for a bee emergency is hair spray. Just spray the little buggers with hair spray and they can't fly.

Just make a trap with a 2-liter soda bottle. That will keep them away from the door. Here are the instructions. http://www.pestcontrolcanada.com/INSECTS/wasp_traps.htm
