ok smart people, how to question. you know those bottles you purchase for scenting a room? they use an alcohol base scented liquid, have a wick, a stone, you light it, then blow it out and the heat infuses the room with scent. i have a concentrated oil of my favorite scent but cannot use it in this type of lamp. i figure i could mix it with alcohol and use it . do you think it would work? would it be safe? what type of alcohol do i use. i don't think it's your run of the mill rubbing alcohol. i don't want to pull a richard pryour and go up in flames although...i smell really good. what say you braniacs?

I have a small bonsai tree that was a gift. It was doing well for about 8 months, and now it's leaves are turning brown and falling off. I water it every 2 days and spray the leaves with water. It sits on my kitchen table but not in direct sunlight. Any help? I love my tree!!!

i live in an aprtment block and when i am out i am sure an agent of the landlord (who is also a neighbour) uses a key to enter the property to check that the apartment is ok. Although this contravenes the tenancy agreement and is also illegal what can i do to prove, to some degree, that she has been in while i am not there.
Are there 'tricks' other than selotaping a hair strand onto a closed door and door frame so when the door is opened the strand of hair breaks.

On two occasions I've been having snails inside my little cottage. First time it was without the house in the sink, and the second time with its house but a smaller one in the middle of the floor.

Why are they inside and does it have to do anything with humidety? This is in the Bay area, California.

Thanks

The light bulbs in my house seem to burn out at an accelerated rate. Is this due to power surges coming into the house or some other problem such as a my internal wiring? Most importantly, what can I do to fix it?

double oven, one with single rack, one full sized. Do you have one do you like it? Is the smaller oven good for making single sheet of cookies, casserole, pizza, etc. and does it take much less time to preheat? They cost about $500. more. Is it worth it?

Is your window cleaner insured?
Does it matter? what if he breaks a window?

2006-11-17 00:16:17 · 12 answers · asked by safari dude 1

I know window cleaners often clean our gutters.
Would you ask the window cleaner to mow the lawn?
How much would you pay him? £10?
Should he take the cuttings away? Should he bring his own mower? his own power supply?
Would it be our of order to ask him to wash a car?
What can and can't you ask them to do? what's the determining factor?

My lodger has recently left - thank goodness! But she left the room in a bad way. I have repainted the walls and cleaned the carpet. However, the carpet is so badly stained that I can not remove the stains completely. Should I ask her for some money towards this?

Purchased a new KitchenAid Builtin and have it set at it's lowest setting (34 degrees). The interior shelves are fine. The door shelves are just holding at 40 degrees, but the two bottom vegetable bins are never lower than 45 degrees.
