we have a real nice oak tree,but now that the leaves haqve fallen i can see that it,s infested with miseltoe.if this can kill the oak,how can i get rid of it ??is there any risk handling it /IF SO WHAT ARE THAY ?? looks scary to me..

Mistletoe is a parasite and live in hand with the tree. It's harvested from the tree and packaged, then sold in stores at Christmas time for the tradition of hanging over the doorways for a kiss for good luck.
As far as I know mistletoe is not poisonous or harmful to you, to the tree, I would guess not, it's been growing like this for centuries. Contact someone like "Michael's" decorations and ask if they buy this at Christmas for decorations, you may have a part time job for the season, like bow cutting for wreaths.

it is a poison and it will kill the tree in time you can handle it but wash your hands after they sell it at Christmas so it 's not going to hurt you . look up and see if you have a grange in your town it's a store that sells farming supplies also check and see if you have a extention service

Yes it can if the infestation is big enough. Just cut it off if you can reach it. As far as I know there is no danger in handling it.

no the mistletoe wont kill it, it lives in symbiosis with the oak. its really a wonderful thing to have, you can pull it down and sell at christmas.
