Cavity bwall insulation? It would reduce your heating bills by 30 %. It would save the environment a tonne of carbon dioxide. There would be no mess at all as it is installed from outside. It only takes 2 hours.Your home would be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. There's a 25 yr. guarantee on all work carried out by certified installers On top of this the government is considering financial penalties for homes without it! and it is totally free because of a government grant!.So why do people refuse to have it done?

I just bought a house with a 1962 original Frigidaire dual oven stove. It's 40 inches wide! The stove is in perfect working order too. We're looking to remove the stove and replace it with a gas stove. I'm wondering if it's worth anything or what we should do with it. Afterall, it is considered an antique.

I recently purchased a house with a small wood-burning fireplace. It has glass doors, a blower, and a knob to turn that's about halfway up the pipe, which I guess is a damper? I think I open the damper only to start the fire and leave it open until the fire is out, but I'm not sure how to use the blower, and I'm not really 100% sure I'm right about the damper......any help would be appreciated!!

We have a broken Oven, and there is a fire hazard in the basement. We can not hook up our dryer due to the fire hazard. The white tubing that goes into the dryer is FULL of lint and will cause a fire and/or break our new dryer. We call him and he does not pick up his phone, when he does return our calls, he requests the money, but NOTHING about the repairs. At 1st he kept saying he would come over Saturday and he never did, and never called or anything. I have called CITY HALL now, but im waiting to hear back from someone.

Im so fustrated! I cant cook properly, im 9mo pregnant, and now pissed off! HELP!

Ok, I'll try to describe it as best I can. It looks a lot like a box elder bug only a little bigger and without the red markings. Its brownish black with long antennae (feelers?) and it flies. Its found in the Northwest of the U.S. and when you squish it even just a little bit (my puppy did it-he likes bugs) the whole room smells like leaves or plants. I keep finding these ugly things in my house and I'd like to know what they're called. I'll try to download a picture of it that I took yesterday. I just don't know where to post it to. (yes, I'm dumb. Don't remind me, k)

We live in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada - we are looking to get rid of our very usable dining room set (table, x6 chairs, long sideboard and china cabinet). Is there a place that someone can think of that would take it as a donation but give out a tax receipt for it???

Since we are building a house soon in Wales, UK, we are planning on being a little more "green" by installing a Rain Water Harvest system to capture rainwater.

Does anyone have any experience of using one of these systems (their efficiency, benefits overall in the house, problems) and does anyone have any recommendations for a company (wherever they are from) that would supply in Wales.

What is a must for home and contents as there are so many options. I also want to make sure I dont get stung so much. We have kids so could cause damage.

Also making claims for roofing and guttering, is that covered.

Found this plant in my garden, wonder if it is some form of apple tree. It has apple-looking fruit and the inside looks apple-like as well?

Have a look at these pictures, tell me if you know what it is?
Thanks
