Assuming you are not talking about the can opener tools, search "victorinox multi-purpose hook" on youtube there are some useful videos showing using the multi-purpose hook (parcel carrier). Here are some video's in source link below.

Yes..it is a can opener and is also a bottle opener for those little goodies that won't twist off. Remeber the olden days when soda and beer needed an opener?

if its the one im thinking of, its for untying knots. but use it for anything you like.
