I want to run my home well, but on a budget. It's just me and my husband that live together, and it just seems to be so expensive to maintain the house. Am new at this, so advice from more experienced women would be very appreciated. What would be a reasonable budget for stocking the house? And any advice on must-have products for the home?
And then there is cooking...I cant seem to cook the right proportions and, at the right time, cause I'm so tired when I come home from work. Any ideas?
Storage is another one...the bins I buy dont ever seem to be big enough to hold my stuff.
So basically am saying, "HELP!"

I planted two of each plant in my garden. I live in South-west Florida. I of each plant is dead and they are on different sides of the garden. I put alot of water in the dead plants and alot of small black bugs came out of each one. I would like to know what that bug is. It looks like a small beetle. Does anyone know? Please help and let me know what to do to kill them. I never knew of a bug killing plants or building homes in the roots.

I have my dog's treats in what I thought was an air tight container but apparently I was wrong. About a month ago, I opened the container and saw a few bug scurry really fast to the bottom of the container. I also noticed that a bunch of the dog's treats had perfect little circles eaten out of them. I searched all the treats, smushed the bugs, washed the container and put the treats back in.

Today when I opened the container there was a ton of bugs in there! I just bagged up the treats and threw them out. I cannot figure out what kind of bugs they are. They are brown and tiny, they don't seem to fly but they scurry fast. They aren't roaches because they are so tiny and they aren't anywhere else in my kitchen and my kitchen is fairly clean. They actually look like fleas or tiny beetles. Has anyone ever had bugs like this? I want to make sure I get rid of all of them because they are grossing me out. Thank in advance for any serious answers.

We live in a private residential area where our garden backs onto a park walkway. Have had problems with hooligan teenagers breaking glass in our greenhouse for the past two summers. (Have replaced glass with plastic panes) BUT now they are throwing stones/soil/eggs at the front windows. Absolute nightmare - been in touch with the local council and police have been called out many times but they can't do anything unless they catch them throwing! Absolutely pathetic as when we called the police last night the youths were actually at the front of the house and they ask the teenagers "not to run away". Police said to go out to them and ask them nicely not to do it. (What a joke) Am at my wit's end as to what to do next. (Know what I would like to do but they would probably have me in court.) Sensible answers please.

In cleaning out our garage, we found a bunch of old paint, strippers (paint, not dancers), brake fluid, etc. Any thoughts of where I can take this and dump it off to have it properly disposed of?

I was looking outside early this AM and I saw this amazing bird sitting on a telephone line that crosses a greenbelt that runs along my whole block in the back. It had a rust colored chest and yellow legs with a big hooked beak and the back is bold black and white striped. It may be a kestrel or falcon. It is probably 15 lbs and 22 inches long. I saw it swoop down and grab a small snake and take it up to the wire and swallow it whole. BTW I live in South Texas

I respect the life of all things; big or small, and I don't want to kill these ants. However, I have a 2 year old brother who keeps getting bit! I don't want him to get bit because obviously ant bites are horribly irritating, but I don't want to KILL the ants either... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your help is much appreciated! God Bless!

The hole is hard to get to because if is real close to the central air unit behind the house. Also I can not use stink bombs because it is close to the kitchen of my house and the idea is to get rid of the groundhog not me!!

I just bought a house whose former owner smoked heavily, and the entire house carries the sour, stale smell of old cigarette smoke. I am trying to air out the house as much as possible, and I suppose that I will resort to air fresheners, baking soda, and some repainting of the walls; but else can I do? It's driving me nuts.
