I respect the life of all things; big or small, and I don't want to kill these ants. However, I have a 2 year old brother who keeps getting bit! I don't want him to get bit because obviously ant bites are horribly irritating, but I don't want to KILL the ants either... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Your help is much appreciated! God Bless!

Ants and other insects pick their homes based on location of food. So one way would be to remove the source of food. Follow the trail, see where they are going. Remove or install a barrier (if it is a tree, paint the base white or set up moats around things). There are also some electronic devices on the market (search the web) that will repel various insects and rodents without harm. Otherwise, your brother is just going to have to learn the hard way to leave ant hills alone.

In the house, it's mainly a matter of ensuring that there is no access for them, and that if an ant does get in that it is unlikely to find food. Keep your eyes peeled for scout ants at all times, and put any you find back outside before they can lay a trail for others to follow. Outdoors, it's their world too, the ants won't keep out of your brother's way so he'll have to learn to keep out of theirs.

How about you make (or buy) an ant farm-catch the ants and you and your brother can spend many happy hours watching how these amazing little creatures live.-better than television!
If the ant nest is outside,. teach your brother to not go near it-

Well, unless you want to grab each and every ant, no. Try trapping them in something.
