We had this problem with skunks. Put some mothballs down the hole. They hate the smell! They may toss them back out, but keep at it. The smell will drive them away and then you can back fill the hole. The smell will not come into your home. Good luck!

You could try one of those Havahart traps, as the other poster suggested. Or, there are some special smoke bombs that you can buy that are meant for getting the ground hogs out of there for good.
I would just be careful with the mud/water suggestion, because you don't want to undermine the foundation/slab that the carport is built on.

Well, you don't want to run water under a concrete slab. That is asking for trouble. This is going to sound weird, but it works for deer, badgers and many other animals as well. Pee a little in a cup and pour it into the hole. They do not like humans and you will have marked your territory. It works.

I think New Zealand because of their very bad result of test cricket. Recently England has defeated New Zealand very badly also their performance not like good now. So, I think New Zealand is the most under rated test cricket team in the world or I think South Africa is the most powerful test cricket team in the world.

Hi. We have had a groundhog family under the backyard shed for forty years, almost. He does not bother me because the shed is so far from the house. I have heard that moth balls put in the nest will chase them away. and under there the smell will not travel to your kitchen.
Did you name him yet?

I saw this on the tv when they had a garden specialist on, Take a cheap little radio and put it on a hard rock station and it has to be hard rock, and then turn it almost all the way up and put it in the hole. They will leave almost instantly because the vibrations from the music is unbearable to them.
BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
