When should Christmas lights be put up, SHOULD THERE BE A LAW...?
When should Christmas lights be put up & when should they be taken down? I've always gone by the rule my Mom used. Up after Thanksgiving & down the week after New Years.

AND...
SHOULD THERE BE A LAW...?
I've already seen 3 stores with Christmas lights and Sale signs up. Jeezus H!, it's not even Halloween yet.
P.S. -NO discussion of religion or religious ornaments, statues, and/or symbols please. (Keep it light) Thanks.

I am trying to get more information about the internals of a backup
generator. Specifically those in the 3kw to 6kw range driven by gas
engines. I have questions like:

(1) What protections do they have against overload? I have been using DC power supplies for 35 years and they all have current foldback that comes into effect when overloaded. Do any generator manufacturers include a similar function?

(2) If the unit has the 240 volt plug, assuming the two hot wires, the
neutral and the ground, how well do they handle load unbalance? For example, if all the load is on one of the legs will that cause any problem.

(3) How do they implement the effect of a center tapped transformer so they "look like" the incoming power line? I have looked over a few in stores and I don't see any transformer.

(4) How do they control the amplitude and frequency of the output?

(5) How close is the output to a sine wave?

Thanks in Advance,

Pete

I checked with the county's land record. They have no files that go back further than 1970 because of a fire. The state doesn't have the information either.

I found this page and ran some numbers:

The cost savings is unbelievable.
I know coal is dirty, but with such incredible savings, I'm surprised more people don't heat with it.

Know of anyone still using it?
What was it like in the old days when homes were heated with coal furnaces?
What's the deal?

She says Martha Stewart claimed they used animal blood. Stewart also said they 'cooked' they blood so the animals wouldn't come. I think Stewart is a minon of Satan so I can see her using animal blood on her house.

They play on an open space outside my house all the time and the noise is driving me crazy. Have asked the council to sort it out and they have not taken any notice. The ball continually goes onto my property and potential damage is only a ball away. The street wardens have chosen to do nothing.

In the last month or so, my partner and I have noticed an increase in the gnat population. These gnats have seemed to migrate to the inside of our apartment causing a huge problem. We keep our apartment very clean (not leaving out food, taking trash out on a regular basis, cleaning drains with hot water and bleach) all with no avail.

I don't have the money to pay for heating oil. I am renting an old trailer with an oil furnace. My parents seem to think they can go geta 5 gallon can of Kerosene and dump in the oil tank. Is this a safe thing to do? Will it mess up the Oil furnace?
