When should Christmas lights be put up, SHOULD THERE BE A LAW...?
When should Christmas lights be put up & when should they be taken down? I've always gone by the rule my Mom used. Up after Thanksgiving & down the week after New Years.
AND...
SHOULD THERE BE A LAW...?
I've already seen 3 stores with Christmas lights and Sale signs up. Jeezus H!, it's not even Halloween yet.
P.S. -NO discussion of religion or religious ornaments, statues, and/or symbols please. (Keep it light) Thanks.

I dont know about a law, but the stores shouldnt put it up until after Halloween. It kind of ruins the idea of Christmas when they put it up this early, I mean we all get so used to it, when Christmas comes we dont really get excited. You know what I mean? Stores I go to usually have Christmas stuff up before Halloween. Crazy!!

The best way is just what you said, put them up after Thanksgiving take them down the week after New Years. The merchants are anxious to rake in the Christmas money so they start early. Don't be too surprised if we start seeing Christmas decorations on the fourth of July. I don't think a law would be able to regulate this. Besides we have too many laws and regulations as it is.

I think that there should be a law for when people can have their Christmas lights up. Your moms rule sounds reasonable. It make the neighborhood look bad when people leave them up all the time. I mean how lazy can you be.

I do agree that Christmas stuff is being put out in shops earlier and
earlier every year. As long as the lights are not overly abundant,
I don't feel there should be a law.

people shop earlier then they used to so Christmas things are put out earlier and some people decorate early because they have their reasons and take the decorations down when they want , there should never be a law about any of it.
