Liquid nails is a colored caulk and if the plastic sheeting is transparent or translucent then you would see the liquid nails through it.

Get contact cement. apply to both surfaces and let dry to the touch then apply them together. Make sure you are squared up because once it touches you won't move it.

not sure if it is avail. in a spray. Make sure you get the clear contact cement some has a yellow tint to it when it dries.

Hope this helps!

Liquid nails

It's what contractors use to adhere things like mirrors to walls. It comes in one of those large caulking tubes and you will need to use a caulking gun with it. (Bet you can borrow one from someone...)

Ususally costs around $4 for a big tube of the generic brand of it. Available at wal-mart, home depot, etc.

Spray glue won't work if what you are gluing has any weight to it - and it doesn't work well on porous surfaces like plywood.
It's called Spray Bond, but don't waste your time and money on it.

I think what you want is a true oxymoron-- adhesive that's good that is in a spray format.
I agree with the liquid nails or contact cement-- however-- say goodbye to the nutcracker-- don't think you'll ever retrieve it from the plastic.
good luck
