my neighbor is infested with these disgusting pests and she does very little to even try and get them under control. i am sure they are migrating from her home to other homes. i just want them gone from my environment. why dont they all stay at her place since she does nothing much to eradicate them?

If so, please let me know how you landed there. It seems like a dream of a lot of people I know - but I don't know many people who have actually achieved it.

we have a spider infestation, and I want to buy insect killer. (I hate spiders, I don't care whether they're good or bad). I'm in London and I'd like to know where I can get some. supermarket? boots? I've not been in the UK long enough to have needed to know this before.

I have been gradually losing my St. Augusting lawn over the past several years and now it appears too late to save it. I suspect a bad soil condition and lack of sun and at this point I feel it may be best to start over. I have no idea what the cost would be. Would welcome any opinions or suggestions. Thanks - Bob (Elrod)

ok, i recently moved into a new house. Being an eighth-grader, i REALLY don't know if my owner is unfair or not. I heard my parents talking about it, and got a bit worried. This may sound stupid, but i really am. Sooo.. one thing i've noticrd is that we do NOT have cable on our TV. We ordered cable, and the TV guy came to our house to get it in, but he said that thecord coming out of the wall was too short and that we would have to lengthen it to get cable. we asked the owner to pay, because SHE was the one who had cut it short, but then she said it was OUT responsibility, so that we should pay, since we live in the house now. and yesterday, when three blinds on our windows fell off, and last week, when the microwave practically exploded on us, with a broken handle, and we noticed that six (!!!) of the upstairs lightbulbs were burnt out, the filter system on our AC was dirty, and last but not least, the shower door fell on me. and it's HEAVY. she's refusing to pay for all of it.unfair?

I live in southern Louisiana and the weather has gotten a bit cooler. Meaning, 50s inthe evening and and average of about 75 inthe afternoon. During the warmer months wasps began flying in and out of my BF broke down motorcycle. I was the only one that has seen these wasps. He doesnt think they exist. anyway....this morning after a cool 54 degree evening I see about 15 wasps suffering to death on my patio where they used to hang out. No-one has tried to kill them. In fact, until this morning, I have not seen them for about 2 weeks.
I have a rose bush.....several mums.....and ivy growing around where the motorcycel is parked.
Does the chilly weather do this to them? Will the warmer weather revive them?
Sorry if this sounds dumb, its just really weird.

I always try to use EE bulbs, but my new house has loads of dimmer switches. Are there any energy efficient bulbs that it's ok to use?

Of course, I know the answer, from an environmental point of view, is to conserve energy. What I don't understand is how this is accomplished.

Is the idea that, by insulating your house, you lose less heat, therefore your house is warmer, therefore you can turn the heating down, remain warm and use less gas ?

Or, is the idea to minimise the amount of warm air escaping our houses because this is contributing to global warming ?

I've always assumed the former but it occurs to me that all the insulation in the world is useless unless we turn down the thermostat - you still end up using the same amount of energy. I wonder therefore how many well-insulated homes still have the heating too high and are therefore using too much energy ?

I'm sure this is just my lack of understanding so, please, someone set me straight.

Cheers

I really just want to be able to heat the main living area in the winter. We like it cool upstairs. But, I have this feeling I am just wasting gas with this thing.

It doesn't currently have a fan but I was thinking of buying one. The unit is 1 year old.
