I like a cool house. If the temp gets over 72 or 73, it's stuffy to me.

i would much rather have to put on a long sleeve shirt than to sweat and not be able to cool off...so i hate the winter when the old man keeps that heater jacked up. i think 68 to 70 is a comfortable temp for winter and summer

We are silly right now as we refuse to put on the heat so we are hiding out in 58 but when we do finally turn on the heat it will be likely about 68 - 72.

We live in Minnesota, and have had to keep it at 60 so far because we're poor and can't afford gas right now. However! we purchased a corn stove (burns dried corn - WAY cheaper than gas) which will more than pay for itself over using gas this winter. My inlaws have one, and they kept their output (for heat) on low ALL winter last year and it stayed at about 80 in thier house all winter.
