Hydroponic is growing without soil using water and water soluble nutrients to feed your plantings. Whatever they happen to be. Usually plants are grown in a gravel like base for the roots to grow well and establish a strong support system. Not only to hold up the plants but for feeding on also. A nutrient rich slurry is then pumped through the containers of plants. Generally a trough type container so solution runs through slowly but doesn't let much stand in contaier. As far as propagation goes there are serveral ways but my prefered way is to take cuttings (root or shoot) from healthy plants I already have and make more. Free is always best! Get yourself a bottle of rooting hormone ( Rootone) You dip your cuttings dirctly into The hormone powder and plant. g a bolck of "Rock Wool" from your local insulatin contracter. It will hold water like an oasi . Stick your freshly dipped cuttings in holes just big enough to support there weight. (Make hole with a pencil ) Keep moist and giv lots of warm sunshine. Good Luck!

Hydroponic planting, you don't use soils or composts, but (sterile) fired clay stones in a container with water containing all the nutrients the plant needs.
