We are not hooked up on a sewer. The drain goes into a field line beside the house which is burried under ground. I put draino in it and treated it twice with no effect.

I know I have a leak in my main water line somewhere under my yard from the water main in the street to my house (because when I turn off the water to the house itself, the water meter still spins). The plumber wants to dig up my entire yard with a backhoe and charge me thousands of dollars to find the darn leak. That strikes me as using a rocket when a BB gun would do as well. Isn't there any simpler, less expensive way of finding a leak ?

I have a Nutone 665 with Fan, Heater and Light. It is only 3 years old and the heater is not really used that much. It was running and just stopped. No noise, smell or anything.
The light and exauhast fan still work, I am pretty sure they are on the same power line. I checked the fuses, none were tripped.
Is there anything else to check? I can buy a new one for $80, but want to see if this one will work.

On the door panel it says that 240 volt dryers use 2 fuses located in main box & to try to replace or tighten. Are they talking about the electric box outside on the house or is there a fuse box actually in the dryer & if so where is it located? I have been having some blow outs with my christmas lights & don't know if this is causing the dryer problem or if it is just a coincidence. Also, do these dryers have pilots in them that could have possiby blew out & need to be relit? Please help, if you have any suggestions!

Hello,

I own a 3.5hp snowblower that has many problems. One of which is the fact that it is so weak. I live in Canada so we get lots of snow, anyway, anytime we get anything above a moderate snowfall, it is extremely hard to clean the snow. My parents wont allow me to buy a used snowblower as they dont 'trust' used ones. I dont have enough money to buy a new one, so I was wondering is there anyway to modify the snowblower to give it more horsepower and/or torque. I would be willing to invest some money into this upgrade (not too much though).

Thanks

I've been here 2 months and all my stuff is damp up there, the water is dripping onto the loft floorboards. I brought the xmas tree down and it stinks of mould. The soil vent is straight into the loft and I have put a tin lid over it, it smells of poo up there too.
I contacted the builders who don't care, as the property was built 12 years ago they don't care.

What can i do???

Hi, what is the best way to weatherproof the walls of an older house? (1920's end of terrace which is quite exposed) - I'm concerned that my brickwork is probably a bit porous as I have had some small penetrating damp problems and they can take a real pounding in severe weather.

Our upstairs toilet has started producing noisy vibrations in the water lines when we flush it.This only happens on this toilet, all the other cold water supplies to taps etc are fine. This noisy vibration can be stopped if we turn on the bathroom cold tap.
Could it be that we need a new syphon in the cistern.?
