Most houses in the UK have central heating, which means radiators filled with hot water.

Other common systems are electric storage heaters, or warm air vents. People often also have a gas or electric fire in their main living room.

There are still a small number of houses without central heating, and they tend to have a real fire, or sometimes a stove like an Aga.

Most people have central heating which supplies radiators to each room. These radiators are water filled and fueled by gas or oil boilers - the later normally reserved for commercial properties and houses that dont have gas supplies.
Some people have storage heaters which use cheaper rate electricity during the night. They then radiate there heat during the day time.

I'm with blokheed on this. Are you for real??

Anyway, now I've got that off my chest i'll try to be helpful. We use mostly central heating with radiators. if you have radiators you also need a boiler. the boiler pumps hot water around the radiators and warms the room up. There are also electic conductor heaters. We have oil heaters. we have electic fires with bars. we have electric fan heaters.we have gas fires. we have coal fires. we have log burners. we have camp gas heaters. we have arsonists just like anywhere else - they tend to heat a room up well!!
