is there anyway i can get it fixed without buying a new one.
is was an expesive straightener :/

If there is any "good" wire left, you could cut off the chewed-up part and splice a new cord & plug onto the unit. You could buy a cord/plug or probably scavange a cord from some junked appliance, just be certian it will handle the current draw of the hair straightener. If you don't know how to make the splice it would be best to find a friend who knows how to do it safely. It would only take a few minutes of their time.
You might be able to order a complete replacement cord from the manufacturer to do a proper repair, but so much of what is made now, they just assume that when it stops working, people won't even think about repairing it, they'll just throw it out; so many companies don't even try to stock spare parts!
