This is a rental house the Gas Co. said has a major leak from the meter to under the house but we changed out all pipes. They came back & said the same thing. Checked everywhere...found a gash in the pipe coming from the meter location into the ground, about 6 inches before going into the ground. The Gas Co. didnt look for the leak or even try to, they just said there is one and they dont do the work. My question is would a leak in that location lead them to believe its an under the house problem? Also, can that short piece of pipe be replaced or do I have to replace the whole pipe to the sidewalk and am I responsible or the Gas Co.? The gas is off at the house. Thanks for any replys.

We have 5 acre prop w/ about 200 avocado trees.Located outside our fence is the water company's pressure regulator; A month or so ago, we started having problems w/ our sprinkler system and 'noticed increased water pressure inside the house. Then, a pvc pipe close to the water co's pressure regulator broke & a plumber replaced a 2" ball valve & repaired the 2" pvc leak ($500). I called the water company & told them of problems we're starting to experience. They checked & replaced their broken pressure regulator. They also claim, their broken pressure regulator has nothing to do with problems we are experiencing. Is this true or not?

We bought a Gemmy brand inflatable snowglobe from Target.com at the end of Christmas season. the motor went out and they replaced it. (90 day warranty. Now we put the new one up and it lasted for 1 day. they won't give us an exchange or refund due to the 90 day warranty. Is there anything we can do to make this right? Does anyone know how we could fix it ourselves ? You would think a reputable company like Gemmy would make this problem right. We did some investigating and found out they now put the motor/fan on the outside of the blowup. They had it where the motor got little air while it was blowing up. It really put a damper on our decorations as we had everyone asking where we got the "neat " inflatable carousel.

Ok mainly I'm looking for a solution to my room. I live in an apartment in spokane, WA and lately it has been averaging about 20 F. My room is freezing cold every day, but it is just because the apartments have these crappy thin windows in the rooms and all the heat escapes through there.
Yes we have heaters but the cost is ridiculous.
I'm just wondering what would be best to put over my windows to keep heat in. I have some old pillows and blankets that I could put over, but was looking for an idea that might work a little better.
This window looks out into our common area, so I really don't care about ever looking through it. Although I can't make any major constructive changes, since it is an apartment.

Hi all,
I purchased a house over the summer and the only note the home inspector made was that there were no gutters installed on the eaves.
I want to get some quotes for it before heavy snowfall starts but I'm not sure what to answer if they ask whether I want PVC or metal (is it steel?) gutters.
I was hoping someone could give me a quick snapshot of the pros/cons of each type.
Thanks!

Is it usually less expensive to get upgrades from the builder (new construction) or to get it done later from a completely diffrent contractor.
I want to get my cabinets upgraded and hardwood floors installed along with all electrical stuff (extra outlets, cable plugs and Ceiling lights)

Thanks
