This is a serious question. The plumber I called found it but wouldn't touch it and I know I couldn't bring myself to either, yuk!
Any (sensible) suggestions please.

Call a plumber with balls.

Give me a break there are people who pull dead people out of water that have highly decomposed bodies. Explain to another plumber over the phone what the situation is and I am sure you will find somebody who doesn't have a problem with that. If your from the north suburbs of Detroit leave me your e-mail and I will do it for $.

depending on whether its the cold water 'tank' feeding a cold water supply to something, how water cylinder, bath etc the people who say disinfect the system really should be listened to!

get a pro who is able to follow the disinfection regime or there are also specialists who do this work.

if its in there and feeds any domestic water stop using it until its cleaned out.

as for having rabies and salmonella do you have a clue what you are talking about

Don't be so timid - get a stick and hook it out - or ask the bloke next door to do it for you.

Better run off all the water and add some chlorine once the little devil is out though.

Phone your council and ask if anyone can deal with this problem for you. They may send the pest control man out to you. If not just put a black bin liner over your arm and pull it out yourself. The longer its left, the worse it will get.

wear rubber gloves and grab it, use a slotted spoon or Cat litter box scoop to dip it out. I'd do it bare handed, hands can be washed.
