What makes a toilet bowl "check"? It appears to be above the water line. It is hot here in the summer.

Could that be the problem? And is it apt to eventually leak water out?

ya heat will do that, no, mine is checked all over and it isn,t leaking , the glaze is whats checking, [brittle covering]

Are talking about the bowl. That is where you sit. Or is it the tank?
If it is the bowl. The checking could be caused by numerous things. If it is not leaking at this time you will be OK for the time being. But just remember that with pressure from someone sitting on it may cause it to shatter. It is made of porcelain
