I have a Skil drill that uses the 144bat pack. The standard charger is apparently designed to die if the battery is dead, mine did. Is it possible to build a high quality battery charger for this battery pack?

I bought a new 40 gallon, natural gas, hot water heater today. I had to lay it on its side to get it home. The people at the store said it's best not to, but if I do then I must stand it back upright for the same amount of time it was on its side before I install it.

My washing machine just leaked. It totally flooded my flat, and my downstairs neighbour who is seriously pi**ed off at me! I've managed to soak up the majority of the water, using every towel and sheet i own. The drum is still full of water and without opening the door and letting it all spill out i really don't have a clue how to get it out. Please help! It's 2am on a Sunday morning and a plumber is going to cost an absolute fortune!!!

Does anybody know where to purchase, rent, or get any info concerning "smart power meters"? This meter tells the cost of the power as you are using it.I read an article in the New York Times that is very informative concerning the cost of electricity. It seems that the rate we pay is constantly changeing according tp peak and non-peak usage and by planning your heavy use appliances to be used at non peak hours it is possible to cut your bill by a considerable amount.I cant seem to find a supplier of these meters. Any information would offered would be sincerely appreciated.

My sump is constantly filling with clear water from one of the drain tiles (interior or exterior of footing), causing my sump to run every 5 minutes or so. It did not do this for the first year or two when we bought the house. It now fills constantly, even if it hasnt rained in weeks.(eliminates grading questions) The pump and check valve have been replaced (as the old pump burned out). Is it possible that our city water mains leak? could a test for flouride in the water determine that? I would like to finish my basement, but fear a pump failure. I am planning on a backup pump install, but would really like to know where the water is coming from and if possible stop it. None of our nearby neighbors (less than 10 ft away) have problems, but there homes are older and may not have sump pits. Our house is 6 years old, and sits up higher on the gradual slope than others. We are closer to the water main, but that too was just replaced. I am at a loss.

I need to secure double swinging doors at work and I cannot find the name of the device. It is a u-shaped bar that hooks the push handles of swinging doors. The janitors at my high school used them to secure the door from the inside. Does anyone know what they're called?

I'm installing ceramic tile. How do you make the double corner cuts? Or the cuts around faucet fittings? I have a tile cutter the scores and then breaks the tile, but I need to know how to cut a hole in the tile to fit around the bathtub faucet etc. Also outside corners that have a 90 degree angle. Thanks.

I live in a basement flat which previously had mould growing on the walls. the walls were partially knocked down and there was very bad damp. they then put some time of barrier up and re plastered the walls. now there is a new kind of white icy/snow like mould growing and i worry it could be causing damage to the people living in the flat (i.e by breathing it in). can anyone think what kind of mould it is?
