Soak cotton wool in baby oil and rub over item to be cleaned. Then just buff off with a dry cloth. Lovely shiny chrome in seconds.

Try the chrome cleaner at Griot's garage. It works great (and no, I don't work for them or have any interest in the purchase of their products).

Hi.Chrome plating is very hard and can be cleaned with steel wool, as can glass. Try it in a concealed spot, it will not scratch it. Stubborn spots with steel wool, then with glass cleaner and a paper towel. Good luck.

aluminum foil- with shiney side out, even removes rustr-use elbow grease. crumple up the foil--it is good on applliances, golf club shafts, car bumpers, etc

My book Extraordinary Uses for Everyday thing also lists using baby oil, baking soda, farbric softener sheets, rubbing alcohol, lemon juice, soda pop, toothpaste, and vinegar.

If you do the vinegar method-, also good for strainless steel, apply a light misting of undiluted white vinegar from a recycled spray bottle and buff with soft cloth to bring out brightness.
