The duct that goes out above the microwave has come way down and we cant get it back up, what do we do?

it sounds like the duct has come apart at a joint. if you can get access to the duct run reattach it and add a couple of sheet metal screws to the joint. if you can't get to it, maybe you can do it from inside the duct if you can reach far enough up inside or rig a broom handle to hold the upper piece while you push the lower one up. at this point though it might just be easiest to convert it to an inside vent through the front of the microwave. this is what most people with older homes do anyways. you may need to get an adapter kit to do this though. check the owners manual to see if you do, it should have the part number for it in your manual. good luck.

Sounds like a unit that vents to the outside. If it is then most likely a connection @ one of the joints has come loose. You will need to locate the entire vent to find the problem & reconnect.
